ABSTRACT

?AIM:To observe the values and changing rules of angle Kappa in corneal refractive surgery under light and dark conditions.?METHODS:Two hundred and thirty-four eyes of 118 patients for corneal refractive surgery were enrolled for this study.Pupil diameters and angle Kappa values under light and dark conditions were measured by Keratron Scout corneal topography.?RESULTS: There were significant differences in pupil diameters between light and dark conditions (P<0.01). More angle Kappa of both eyes distributed in the superior nasal quadrant under light conditions, and more angle Kappa distributed in the superior temporal quadrant under dark conditions. The differences of horizontal and vertical offsets of angle Kappa under two conditions were statistically significant (P<0.01).?CONCLUSION: The changes of pupil diameters in light and dark conditions could affect angle Kappa and then affect the accuracy of corneal refractive surgery centered on angle Kappa.

ABSTRACT

OBJECTIVE: To study the influence of superfine grinding technology on extracting flavones from plantain and explore its optimum extraction technology. METHODS: Ultrasonic technology was used to extract the flavones in superfine grinding plantain, the content of flavone glycosides was determined by RP-HPLC. RESULTS: The optimum technology was as follows: the concentration of ethanol was 60%, temperature was 60 degrees C, solid-liquid ratio (g:mL) was 1:20 and extraction time was 20 min. Under these conditions, flavonoids extraction rate of superfine grinding powder was higher than that of conventional powder. CONCLUSION: The technology of superfine grinding can improve flavonoids extraction rate in plantain. An optimum method for extracting flavonoids from superfine granding plantain is established.

ABSTRACT

A novel series of 1-anilino-5H-pyridazino[4,5-b]indoles was designed and synthesized in order to find novel potent anti-tumor compounds. Their structures were confirmed by MS, (1)H-NMR, and elemental analysis. All compounds were screened for their cytotoxic activity against two human cancer cell lines (Bel-7420, HT-1080). The compounds 8, 9, and 17 showed 50% growth inhibitory activity in low micromolar concentration (IC(50 )= 7.7 approximately 12.8 microM). Among them, compound 17 displayed the most potent anti-tumor activity with IC(50) values of 8.2 microM and 7.9 microM against Bel-7402 and HT-1080, respectively.
