ABSTRACT

BACKGROUND Type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM) and its comorbidities, including obesity, hypertension, and hyperlipidemia, are commonly associated with non-alcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD). Ganoderma lucidum polysaccharide (GDLP) is one of the central bioactive components in Ganoderma lucidum with anti-inflammatory, antioxidant, and hepatoprotective properties. However, the effect and mechanisms of GDLP in hepatic steatosis remain largely unknown. In the present study, we aimed to investigate the function of GDLP in hepatic steatosis and the underlying mechanism. MATERIAL AND METHODS In this study, male db/db mice were received with a high-fat diet (HFD) to investigate the effect of GDLP in T2DM-induced hepatic steatosis. The biological characteristics of the hepatic steatosis were evaluated through the detection of clinical indicators, including biochemical parameters, histopathology, and related cytokine levels. Additionally, the protein expression levels of Nrf2 (nuclear factor E2 (erythroid-derived 2)-related factor-2) signaling pathway were investigated by using western blotting and immunohistochemical staining. RESULTS The levels of food/water intake, body weight, fasting blood glucose, plasma lipids, urinary biomarkers, hepatic lipid accumulation, and tumor necrosis factor (TNF)-alpha were observably decreased in GDLP-treated db/db mice. Additionally, administration of GDLP increased the expression of various antioxidases, including superoxide dismutase (SOD), catalase (CAT), and glutathione peroxidase (GSH-Px), whereas it reduced the level of malonaldehyde (MDA). Furthermore, GDLP was significantly promoted protein expression level of Nrf2 and its downstream target gene HO-1 (heme oxygenase-1) while decreased TNF-alpha expression. CONCLUSIONS These results indicate that GDLP against T2DM-induced hepatic steatosis, oxidative stress, and inflammation by improving the Nrf2/HO-1 signaling pathway in db/db mice, suggesting the GDLP may serve as an effective strategy for in fatty liver treatment.

ABSTRACT

Objective:To explore effect of walking on rehabilitation in aged patients with hypertension complicated anxiety. Methods:A total of 160 aged patients with hypertension complicated anxiety were enrolled, randomly divided into medica-tion group (n=80,received routine medication ) and exercise group (n=80,received walking exercise based on routine medication),both groups were treated for four months.Carotid intima-media thickness (IMT) and ZUNG self-rating anxi-ety scale (SAS) score before and after treatment, incidence rate of cardiovascular events after one-year follow-up were compared between two groups. Results:Compared with before treatment, there were significant reductions in IMT and SAS score in two groups after treatment,P=0.001 all;compared with medication group after treatment, there were significant reductions in IMT [ (1.05 ± 0.26) mm vs.(0.90 ± 0.46) mm] and SAS [ (38.07 ± 0.25) scores vs.(23.02 ± 0.46) scores] in exercise group,P<0.01 both.During one-year follow-up,total incidence rate of cardiovascular events in exer-cise group was significantly lower than that of medication group (30.67% vs.69.74%,P=0.001).Conclusion:Walking helps to improve anxiety, reduce incidence of adverse cardiovascular events in aged patients with hypertension complicated anxiety. It’ s safe and reliable, which is worth extending.

ABSTRACT

The research on multispectral data disposal is getting more and more attention with the development of multispectral technique, capturing data ability and application of multispectral technique in agriculture practice. In the present paper, a cultivated plant cucumber' familiar disease (Trichothecium roseum, Sphaerotheca fuliginea, Cladosporium cucumerinum, Corynespora cassiicola, Pseudoperonospora cubensis) is the research objects. The cucumber leaves multispectral images of 14 visible light channels, near infrared channel and panchromatic channel were captured using narrow-band multispectral imaging system under standard observation and illumination environment, and 210 multispectral data samples which are the 16 bands spectral reflectance of different cucumber disease were obtained. The 210 samples were classified by distance, relativity and BP neural network to discuss effective combination of classified methods for making a diagnosis. The result shows that the classified effective combination of distance and BP neural network classified methods has superior performance than each method, and the advantage of each method is fully used. And the flow of recognizing horticultural plant diseases using combined classified methods is presented.
