ABSTRACT

OBJECTIVE: Aim: To investigate the effect of high-intensity interval training (HIIT) based on the CrossFit system on the level of students' functional state and physical development. PATIENTS AND METHODS: Materials and Methods: The research involved 36 male students who were engaged in HIIT during their studies. Indicators of students' functional state and physical development after 1 and 3 years of HIIT were studied. The functional state was assessed by indicators of the cardiovascular and respiratory systems, and physical development - by physical education tests. RESULTS: Results: It has been found that HIIT has a positive effect on the indicators of the functional state of the cardiovascular and respiratory systems of the body and the physical development of students. After three years of HIIT sessions, students significantly improved their heart rate, vital capacity of the lungs, Stange test, Genchi test, duration of recovery heart rate, as well as the level of development of speed qualities, strength qualities, endurance and flexibility. CONCLUSION: Conclusions: It has been established that the sports-oriented form of organization of physical education training sessions with the use of HIIT based on the CrossFit system is quite effective in improving the indicators of the functional state and physical development of students. A high level of these indicators will help to improve students' health, improve their well-being, and increase the effectiveness of their educational and, in the future, professional activities.

ABSTRACT

OBJECTIVE: Aim: To study the peculiarities of the mental health of children with special educational needs after 1.5 years of full-scale war in Ukraine. PATIENTS AND METHODS: Materials and Methods: The mental health of children with special educational needs (SEN) as well as the peculiarities of the impact of hostilities on their emotional and volitional sphere was assessed through the anonymous survey of their parents using the questionnaire developed by the authors (25 questions). The research, which was conducted in 2023 using a Google form, involved 466 parents having children with SEN aged 6 to 10. RESULTS: Results: It was found that among the surveyed families raising children with SEN, 30.7 % of children were in the combat zone or zone of temporary occupation for a week to a month, 19.1 % - for more than a month; 36.9 % of children experienced relocation, 23.4 % were separated from their parents, 19.7 % witnessed hostilities; 49.4 % of children experienced an unstable psycho-emotional state ("emotional swings") during 1.5 years of war in Ukraine, 40.1 % - restlessness, 38.6 % - anxiety; 23.2 % of parents noted that their children were "hooked" on computer games and social networks, 11.2 % - had problems with sleep, 10.5 % - demonstrated the emergence or increase in cognitive problems. CONCLUSION: Conclusions: The negative impact of prolonged stress during the war on the mental health of children with SEN has been revealed, which requires psychological support for such children from parents and psychologists.

ABSTRACT

OBJECTIVE: Aim: To investigate cadets' motivational priorities for physical exercises and sports in the process of their training and the dynamics of their health indicators. PATIENTS AND METHODS: Materials and methods: The research was conducted at the National Academy of Internal Affairs in 2018-2022. The research of motivational priorities involved 372 male cadets from the 1st to the 4th instructional years aged 17 to 22. Two groups were formed to investigate the state of cadets' health: group A (n = 39) included motivated cadets who were additionally engaged in sports, group B (n = 66) was represented by insufficiently motivated cadets who undertook training according to the traditional physical education program and did not additionally engage in physical exercises and sports. RESULTS: Results: It was found that the motivational priorities of cadets for physical exercises and sports vary depending on the instructional year. Group A cadets showed a significantly better level of health than those from group B, by 2.98 points (p ≤ 0.001) during the 4th instructional year. CONCLUSION: Conclusions: A high level of cadets' health formed in the process of physical exercises and sports during training will contribute to the mastering of the educational program and, in the future, will ensure the effectiveness of their service activities. Therefore, the formation of cadets' conscious motivation for motor activities during training in order to improve their health is an important task of higher educational institutions.

ABSTRACT

OBJECTIVE: The aim: To check the e!ectiveness of the methodology for the formation of students' health culture in the process of their physical education and health recreation activities. PATIENTS AND METHODS: Materials and methods: The following methods were used to achieve the aim: analysis, synthesis and generalization of literary sources, pedagogical observation, questionnaires, testing, pedagogical experiment, methods of mathematical statistics. 368 students took part in the ascertaining experiment, 93 students were involved in the formative experiment (52 - experimental group, 41 - control group). RESULTS: Results: The existing level of health culture formedness in students was revealed to be insu"cient, which stipulated the development and substantiation of the methodology for the formation of students' health culture in the process of their physical education and health recreation activities. CONCLUSION: Conclusions: The implementation of the methodology for students' health culture formation into the educational process contributed to an increase in the number of students with a high level of health culture and the level of motivation for a healthy lifestyle. The level of physical #tness of the experimental group students signi#cantly improved during the experiment. All this con#rms the e!ectiveness of the developed methodology.

ABSTRACT

OBJECTIVE: The aim: To research the morphofunctional status of instructors of higher educational institutions of di"erent age groups in the process of their pedagogical activities. PATIENTS AND METHODS: Materials and methods: The research was conducted in the period from 2019 to 2021. The research involved 126 instructor offcers (men) of different age groups: under 30 years of age - 21 people, 31-35 years of age - 27 people, 36-40 years of age - 32 people, 41-45 years of age - 27 people, over 45 years of age - 19 people. Morphofunctional status of the instructor offcers was assessed by the indicators of their height, body weight, lung vital capacity, wrist dynamometry, heart rate, blood pressure and relevant indices. RESULTS: Results: It was found that during the study (2019-2020) the Kettle index, vital index, strength index, Robinson index and duration of recovery processes deteriorated among instructor offcers of all age groups. However, in instructor offcers of 36-40, 41-45 and over 45 years of age most of indices deteriorated reliably (P < 0.05). The values of the studied indices are below average or low in most instructors of all age groups, most instructors are overweight. CONCLUSION: Conclusions: It was found that the level of morphofunctional status of the instructional sta" is insuffcient to perform the tasks of their pedagogical activities. Rationally organized health-improving physical training sessions, taking into account the age group, morphofunctional status of instructors and the time of training sessions during the working day can be an effective way to solve this problem.
