ABSTRACT

Although related studies have examined the impact of different images of artificial intelligence products on consumer evaluation, exploring the impact on consumer purchase decisions from the perspective of algorithmic decision autonomy remains under-explored. Based on the self-determination theory, this research discusses the influence of the agent decision-making role played by different AI algorithmic decision autonomy on consumer purchase decisions. The results of the 3 studies indicate that algorithmic decision autonomy has an inverted U-shaped effect on consumer's purchase decisions, consumer's self-efficacy mediates the relationship between algorithmic decision autonomy and purchase decisions, and consumer's power distance moderates the relationship between algorithmic decision autonomy, self-efficacy, and purchase decisions. The research results can provide references for marketers, retailers, algorithm designers, and other parties to formulate algorithm marketing strategies, make AI algorithm decisions better serve consumers, and achieve value co-creation with consumers.

ABSTRACT

A novel electrochemical method of detecting DNA hybridization is presented based on the change in flexibility between the single and double stranded DNA. A recognition surface based on gold nanoparticles (GNPs) is firstly modified via mixing self-assembled monolayer of thiolated probe DNA and 1,6-hexanedithiol. The hybridization and electrochemical detection are performed on the surface of probe-modified GNPs and electrode, respectively. Here in our method the charge transfer resistance (R(ct)) signal is enhanced by blocking the surface of electrode with DNA covered GNPs. The GNPs will be able to adsorb on the gold electrode when covered with flexible single stranded DNA (ssDNA). On the contrary, it will be repelled from the electrode, when covered with stiff double stranded DNA (dsDNA). Therefore, different R(ct) signals are observed before and after hybridization. The hybridization events are monitored by electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (EIS) measurement based on the R(ct) signals without any external labels. This method provides an alternative route for expanding the range of detection methods available for DNA hybridization.

ABSTRACT

Bisphenol A (BPA) is an environmental pollutant to disrupt endocrine system or cause cancer, thus the detection of BPA is very important. Herein, an amperometric sensor was fabricated based on immobilized CoTe quantum dots (CoTe QDs) and PAMAM dendrimer (PAMAM) onto glassy carbon electrode (GCE) surface. The cyclic voltammogram of BPA on the sensor exhibited a well-defined anodic peak at 0.490V in 0.1M pH 8.0 PBS. The determination conditions were optimized and the kinetic parameters were calculated. The linear range was 1.3 x 10(-8) to 9.89 x 10(-6)M with the correlation coefficient of 0.9999. The limit of detection was estimated to be 1 x 10(-9)M. The current reached the steady-state current within about 5s. Furthermore, the fabricated sensor was successfully applied to determine BPA in real water samples.
