Processamento cognitivo no transtorno de estresse pós-traumático: um estudo teórico / Cognitive processing in posttraumatic stress disorder: a theoretical study

O presente artigo discute o processamento cognitivo no Transtorno de Estresse Pós-Traumático (TEPT) através das teorias mais relevantes relacionadas ao desenvolvimento e manutenção do TEPT: Teoria dos Dois Fatores, Teoria do Processamento Emocional, Teoria da Representação Dual e Teoria Cognitiva de Ehlers e Clark. A partir disso, discute-se a relação entre o processamento cognitivo da experiência traumática e o desencadeamento, a manutenção e o agravamento dos sintomas póstraumáticos. As abordagens apresentam modelos explicativos sobre o processamento da memória traumática, enfatizando fatores que ocorrem antes, durante e depois do trauma. Verifica-se a necessidade de pesquisas empíricas acerca do processamento cognitivo no TEPT, esforço que vem a contribuir com hipóteses explicativas mais precisas que implicam em intervenções efetivas no TEPT

This article discusses the cognitive processing in Posttraumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD), through the most relevant theories of the development and maintenance of PTSD: Theory of Two Factors, Emotional Processing Theory, Theory of Dual Representation and Ehlers and Clark’s CognitiveTheory. Based on this background, the relationship between the cognitive processing of traumatic experience and the onset, maintenance and aggravation of post-traumatic symptoms is discussed. It was found that these theories have explanatory models about the processing of traumatic memories and stress factors that occur before, during and after the traumatic event. There is a need for empirical research on cognitive processing in PTSD, an effort that is contributing to more precise hypothesesimply that effective interventions for PTSD

O luto antecipatório na unidade de terapia intensiva pediátrica: relato de experiência / The anticipatory grief in pediatric intensive care unit: an experience report

O presente trabalho tem o objetivo de abordar um dos temas descobertos através do acompanhamento a pacientes e seus familiares internados na Unidade de Terapia Intensiva Pediátrica (UTIP) do Hospital da Criança Santo Antônio: o luto antecipatório. Neste fenômeno, pacientes e familiares que passam por períodos longos de internação, sentem diversas perdas entre o momento da descoberta do diagnóstico até a morte propriamente dita do familiar-paciente. Este estudo busca uma maior compreensão de como esse processo revela-se na UTIP, com a intenção de obter mais recursos para auxiliar essas famílias. Para isso, foi realizada uma revisão teórica abordando temas, como a perda e a família, a morte, o luto até chegar à compreensão do luto antecipatório. Através de algumas vinhetas, insere-se a exemplificação de um pouco do cotidiano na UTIP, a fim de ilustrar a delicadeza e a importância em auxiliá-los a elaborar perdas e muitas vezes a fazer despedidas significativas.(AU)

The present work aims to address one of the themes found by monitoring the patients and their families admitted to the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) at Children's Hospital St. Anthony: anticipatory grief. In this phenomenon, patients and families who spend long periods in hospital, many feel lost between the time of discovery of the diagnosis until death itself from the family and patient. This study seeks a greater understanding of how this process is reveals the ICU, with the intention of obtaining more resources to help these families. For this, a literature review was conducted covering topics such as loss and family, death, grief until reach the understanding of anticipatory grief. Through some vignettes can illustrate some of the everyday in ICU in order to illustrate the delicacy and importance in helping them to develop their losses and often make significant farewells.(AU)
