No Children Should Be Left Behind During COVID-19 Pandemic: Description, Potential Reach, and Participants' Perspectives of a Project Through Radio and Letters to Promote Self-Regulatory Competences in Elementary School.

Around the world, many schools were closed as one of the measures to contain the spread of the COVID-19 pandemic. School closure brought about important challenges to the students' learning process. This context requires strong self-regulatory competences and agency for autonomous learning. Moreover, online remote learning was the main alternative response to classroom learning, which increased the inequalities between students with and without access to technological resources or for those with low digital literacy. All considered, to level the playing field for students without digital resources, there is an urgent need to promote self-regulatory competences through offline intervention solutions. The current paper describes a project with this purpose, using radio broadcasting and letters to reach elementary students without digital resources. Moreover, potential reach and participants' perspectives of the project implementation are presented and discussed. The project draws on a prior evidence-based story-tool intervention grounded on a self-regulated learning framework. The original intervention was set previous to the COVID-19 pandemic and was implemented in the classroom context (N = 1,103 students). Once the schools had been closed down, the mode of intervention was adapted with the collaboration of the community. Alternative solutions were developed as follows: (i) story chapters were read on the radio and students received to their homes a printed script, prompting reflection, and suggesting related activities; (ii) students were provided with the story-tool to read autonomously and received letters from the main characters of the story which included, for example, suggestions for activities and reflection. These two alternative modes of intervention delivery potentially reached 394 elementary students, including students with digital resources. Interviews conducted with a group of students were provided information about the positive aspects of these two modes of intervention delivery, perceived learning (e.g., planning), constraints, and suggestions to improve the project. The current work is likely to merit attention from researchers and educational practitioners, given the need to use offline alternatives to provide support for students without digital resources to engage in autonomous learning during the pandemic period. This project may also be used as an alternative or a complementary solution to online modality.

O que por vezes observa-se nos atendimentos em saúde é um grande descaso em relação aos aspectos subjetivos do sujeito debilitado, pois o olhar profissional na maioria das vezes fica demasiadamente preso à organicidade da patologia. Entretanto, um atendimento que vise na prática aos preceitos da integralidade, à disponibilidade e ao interesse do profissional de saúde cria um campo relacional empático e acolhedor, que fará toda a diferença na forma como a doença será vivenciada. O presente artigo propõe algumas reflexões inerentes ao paciente e seus aspectos subjetivos, ao processo de adoecimento e suas repercussões, a fim de promover um maior alcance e aprofundamento das especificidades envolvidas neste contexto.

One thing that can be observed in health service is great disregard for the subjective aspects of the weakened person, because the professional view remains excessively tied to the materiality of the pathology. However, a service aiming to practice principles of integrality, as well as counting on the availability and interest of the professionals, creates a sympathetic and sheltering relationship that will make all the difference in how the disease is experienced. This article purposes some reflections on matters inherent to the human being, its subjective aspects, the process of getting sick and its repercussion, having the purpose of widening and deepening the specificities involved in this context.

Confiabilidade dos testes sorológicos realizados pelos serviços de hemoterapia participantes do programa de avaliação externa da qualidade em sorologia (2001 a 2003) / Reliability of serological tests performed by the transfusion program participants of external quality assessment in serological (2001 to 2003)

Como rege a constituição brasileira, a saúde é direito de todos e dever do Estado. No âmbito da política de sangue atualmente vigente no Brasil, é dever do Estado prover acesso universal e de boa qualidade aos serviços de hemoterapia em funcionamento no país. Instaurar, sustentar e expandir a qualidade dos serviços de hemoterapia implica em garantir a segurança das transfusões sanguíneas, o que somente pode ser alcançado através da prevenção da disseminação dos agentes causadores de doenças infecto-contagiosas. Visando o fornecimento de sangue com garantia de qualidade em todo o seu processo - meta mobilizadora nacional para o setor saúde até 2003 - o Ministério da Saúde lançou, através da Gerência Geral de Sangue e Outros Tecidos e Órgãos da Agência Nacional de Vigilância Sanitária (GGSTO/ANVISA) a implantação de um sistema de controle e avaliação externa da qualidade. Tal projeto - objeto desta dissertação - teve como objetivo garantir a exatidão dos resultados dos testes sorológicos assegurando a confiabilidade dos resultados obtidos por 130 Serviços de Hemoterapia do Brasil denominados laboratórios participantes do programa de avaliação externa da qualidade. A confiabilidade dos testes realizados por estes laboratórios participantes - testes anti-HIV-1/2; testes anti-HTLV-I/II; testes testes anti-HBV; testes anti HCV; testes para detecção do HBsAg; e testes de triagem para Doença de Chagas e Sífilis - foram aferidas através do índice estatístico Kappa (K). Os resultados dos testes obtidos pelos laboratórios participantes foram analisados através índice do Kappa, aos resultados dos testes já conhecidos pelo Laboratório Organizador (LAPPS/Bio-Manguinhos/FIOCRUZ). Os testes de triagem realizados pelos laboratórios participantes foram, então, classificados segundo o grau de concordância, como sofríveis, ruins, regulares, moderados, bons ou excelentes. Além de fornecer informações a respeito da confiabilidade dos Serviços de Hemoerapia no país, é brasileiro.
