ABSTRACT

Kept under medical surveillance were 120 patients with duodenal ulcer running an uncomplicated course. All patients and 30 healthy donors were studied for the status of the immunity T-system by spontaneous E-rosette formation (E-RFC) and availability of theophylline-resistant (TPP-RFC) and theophylline-sensitive (TPS-RFC) lymphocytes. With B-system being studied by FAC-rosette formation. All patients with duodenal ulcer displayed a decline in the content of E-RFC, TFP-RFC, TFS-RFC as compared to the indices in controls. Inclusion into the combined therapy of thymalin and dalargin was noted to be associated with a positive dynamics in the rise of T-lymphocytes, their subpopulations to the level in controls, percentage of TFS-RFC. Indices for TFS-RFC did not differ from control ones either before or after the treatment.

ABSTRACT

Overall fifty patients with chronic hepatitis and 50 patients with concurrent pathologies were examined. The patients with chronic active hepatitis and in coexisting pathologies showed more profound depression of the immunity system as well as striking alterations on the iris of the eye. The former patient group received basic therapy, while the latter one were given immunomodulating agents against the background of basic therapy. Iridodiagnosis will, we believe, help in detecting concurrent pathologies of the hepatobiliary and urinary systems. The dynamics of the pathological signs in the iris is strongly related to the clinicoimmunological picture of the illness. Iridodiagnosis is a reliable test of a therapeutic effect in patients with chronic diseases of the hepatobiliary system and in those cases having this medical problem concurrently with the urinary system pathologies.

ABSTRACT

A peptide was obtained at our chair, from the mucous membrane of the stomach of the pig, using a method of acid extraction. The above peptide belongs to the group of cytomedines and is conventionally called "mucozaline". As many as 80 Wistar male rats were used in comparative evaluation of thymaline, dallargine and "mucozaline" for their effect on the course of duodenal ulcer in the rat. The results obtained showed that regulatory peptides play an important part in protection of the gastric and duodenal mucosa against the damaging factors. Of the above agents, it is "mucozaline" that has the greatest protective action, with dallargine and thymaline following it in the declining order.

ABSTRACT

Immunologic concept of pathogenesis of certain diseases wins ever growing number of its proponents. Lack of published data on the state of the immunity system in concurrent pathologies involving biliary and urinary tracts has prompted us to set to study this problem. Studies conducted in 57 patients showed that this condition presents with marked changes in the immune system manifested by activation of humoral immunity at the background of strikingly high degrees of T-cell deficiency. Use of sodium nucleinate in the combination therapy of patients with co-existent pathologies furthers restitution of the indices for immunoreactivity, which fact correlates with improvement of the patients' clinical status.

ABSTRACT

120 patients with chronic gastritis and primary chronic gastroduodenitis were given a three-week course of etiopathogenetic treatment (antichelibacterial and immunocorrective drugs) that allowed to diminish the clinical, bacteriological and immune manifestations of the disease and achieve a complete cure in most patients. Patients with marked chelibacteriosis revealed greater refractoriness. The authors recommend prolonged courses of treatment with alternations of etiologically directed drugs.

ABSTRACT

Association of chronic cholecystitis and pyelonephritis as well as associated formation of calculi are the cause of prolonged course of the disease, resistance to antibacterial therapy, frequent exacerbations. For his reason the authors recommend detailed examinations of the kidneys in patients with chronic cholecystitis for early diagnosis of their pathology and institution of adequate treatment.

ABSTRACT

A study of 90 patients with endoscopically proved duodenal ulcer revealed that dalargin and trichopol+dalargin treatment resulted in early scarring of the ulcer and control of gastroesophageal and duodenogastric reflux in the majority of patients. Gastroduodenitis symptoms were not eliminated in a half of all patients. It was shown that persistent manifestations of gastroduodenitis remained in patients with a pronounced pyloric helicobacteriosis and a high titer of antibodies to cells of the gastric mucosa.

ABSTRACT

Examined were 18 practically healthy subjects and 23 patients with chronic persisting hepatitis. The reaction of blast transformation of leucocytes was carried out in all subjects using PGA and thymalin. The method of cytometry used for evaluation of RBTL permits to reveal at early stages reduction of the functional activity of lymphocytes.

ABSTRACT

A study is presented of the lipid and mineral metabolism composition in 60 patients with diseases of the biliary tract (dyskinesias, chronic noncalculous cholecystitis, cholelithiasis) before and after treatment with a hepatoprotective agent silibor, with a dry protein mixture containing amino acids and minerals and a vitamin-mineral agent quadevit. It was established that the patients showed disorders of the mineral and lipid composition of monotypical character but of different degrees of severity in those suffering of dyskinesias, cholecystitis and cholelithiasis. Silibor treatment furthered normalization of the lipid composition of bile, while treatment with dry protein mixture--of the mineral, with quadevit--of the lipid and mineral.
