ABSTRACT
Se realizó un estudio descriptivo y transversal de 77 pacientes de ambos sexos y edades entre 20-45 años con alguna afección del sistema osteomioarticular, atendidos en la consulta estomatológica de la parroquia Leoncio Martínez de Caracas, Venezuela, desde enero hasta Junio de 2009, a fin de relacionar la gingivitis crónica con algunas afecciones de este sistema según holograma del microsistema de dientes alemán. En la casuística, el meridiano más afectado fue pulmón-intestino grueso; predominaron las dolencias del sistema osteomioarticular en el lado izquierdo y la mayoría de campos de interferencia con la gingivitis crónica estuvieron en la parte derecha de la cavidad bucal. Asimismo, se hallaron alteraciones en la columna vertebral de los afectados con gingivitis leve, moderada y avanzada
A descriptive and cross-sectional study was conducted in 77 patients of both sexes and ages between 20-45 years with some condition of the osteomyoarticular system, attended in the dental department of the parish Leoncio Martínez from Caracas, Venezuela, from January to June 2009, in order to relate chronic gingivitis to some conditions of this system according to hologram of the German dental microsystem. In the case material the most affected meridian was lung-large intestine; osteomyoarticular system conditions prevailed on the left and most of the interference fields with chronic gingivitis were on the right side of the oral cavity. Also, abnormalities in the spine of those patients with mild, moderate and severe gingivitis were found

Se realizó un estudio analítico longitudinal con el objetivo de determinar la relación entre el grado de higiene bucal, la prevalencia, severidad de las periodontopatías y la clasificación del Centro de Control de Enfermedades de Atlanta que cubre todo el espectro de las infecciones por el VIH. Se estudiaron 48 pacientes de ambos sexos que cumplieron los criterios de inclusión establecidos en la investigación. Se determinó el grado de higiene bucal, según el lndice de Higiene Bucal Simplificado de Greene y Vermillion, la severidad de la periodontopatías según lndice Parodontal de Russell y se observó el estadio de la enfermedad sistémica y luego se procedió a relacionar estas variables. Concluida la investigación se observó que la prevalencia de las periodontopatías ascendió al 100 por ciento, la severidad fue moderada predominando la periodontitis, existiendo una relación directamente proporcional entre la higiene bucal deficiente y la severidad de la enfermedad periodontal y de esta con la infección viral(AU)
An analytical longitudinal study was done in order to determine the relation between the grade of buccal hygiene, the prevalence, the severity of periodontopathies and the classification of Disease Control Center of Atlanta that cover spectrum of infections due to HIV. 48 patients of both sex were studied who had the established inclusion criteria for the investigation. It was determined the grade of buccal hygiene according to simplified buccal hygiene Index of Greene and Vermillion, the severity of periodontopathies according to Rusell´s Periodontal Index and the stay of systemic disease and later these variables were related, among them. When the investigation was finished, it was observed that the prevalence of periodontopathies rose at 100 per cent, the severity was moderate predominating the periodontitis. There was a directly proportional relation between deficient buccal hygiene and severity of periodontal disease and of it with viral infection(AU)
