ABSTRACT
We describe a case of incarcerated rectal prolapse caused by blunt abdominal trauma. Emergency treatment consisted of manual reduction with the patient under general anesthesia, proctosigmoidoscopy, and peritoneal lavage. Subsequent definitive surgical therapy was then performed after bowel preparation and consisted of anterior resection of the sigmoid colon with posterior (sacral) rectopexy.

Nonautologous, highly concentrated human fibrinogen and clotting factors were used in the form of fibrin glue to treat three patients with varied surgical problems that were resistant to conventional treatment. Fibrin glue was used to occlude longstanding enterocutaneous fistulae, control liver hemorrhage in an alcoholic patient with coagulopathy, and perform a splenorrhaphy, following a gunshot wound to the spleen. Fibrin glue is effective in establishing hemostasis and sealing tissues; its use is a helpful adjunct in the care of surgical patients.

We describe the radiographic findings and benign clinical course of a patient with two components of a triad of unusual neoplasms: pulmonary chondroma, gastric epithelioid leiomyosarcoma, and paraganglioma that may occur together in young women.
