A total of 102 patients with mandibular fractures were treated by multiple-modality treatment including infrared (IR) laser exposure and magnetic and laser therapy (MT). For monitoring the treatment efficacy and predicting its results, nonspecific defense factors and intensity of free-radical oxidation (FRO) in the saliva were assessed. IR laser and MT by the Ulei-2K device stimulated local defense factors, decreased the intensity of salivary FRO, and thus promoted the healing of mandibular fractures.

[A method for the surgical treatment of mandibular condyle fractures with dislocation of the head of the mandible]. / Sposob operativnogo lecheniia perelomov myshchelkovykh otrostkov s vyvikhom golovki nizhnei cheliusti.

A new method for surgical treatment of fractures of the condylar processes of the mandible with dislocation of the joint head is proposed. It consists in vertical osteotomy of the jaw branch, removal of fragments of the branch and joint head from the wound, intraosseous securing of fragments with a needle outside the operative wound, and fixation of the replant to the branch with 1 or 2 wire sutures. Sixteen patients were operated using this method, the outcomes were favorable.
