ABSTRACT

There have been studied 78 cases with abdominal LMNH diagnosis, treated at the "Sf. Maria" Hospital of Iasi, during the period 1970-1994. The microscopic exam has placed emphasis on the following two important aspects: (i) morphological diagnosis based on standard morphological methods, using conventional staining; (ii) immunohistochemical diagnosis, using monoclonal antibodies CD20, CD3; CD68, E29--for 18 cases. The cases investigated immunohistochemically permitted the identification of the lymphoid tumoral cells for the B/T line and tumoral macrophages, as well as the differential diagnosis with undifferentiated carcinomas. A direct correlation between a certain symptom and the disease could not be determined, although all the gastro-intestinal symptomatic elements have been taken into account. This fact reconfirmed the important role played by the anatomo-pathological exam in establishing the diagnosis and stage of the disease. Consequently the gastro-intestinal lymphomas are particular clinical entities, the investigation of which requires an interdisciplinary approach.

ABSTRACT

The normal vitreous defends the posterior pole damping the traumatic and tension shocks coming from the anterior pole reducing their intensity according to formula P = F/S The buffering function decreases in direct proportion to the degree of fluidity of the vitreous, fluidity that enlarges the volume of the vitreous whereas the mass does not change according to the density formula p = m/v, the density of the liquefied vitreous being greatly diminished. The liquefied vitreous may lead to degenerative lesions of the retina due to prolonged tension of the retina resulting in ruptures and detachment. An anterior pole pressure of 15-16 mmHg transmitted non-modified to the posterior pole through the liquefied vitreous, exceeding by far the pressure of the opticoretinal tissular fluid pressure which in 9 mmHg leads to papillary excavation and glaucoma without tension; hence the liquefied vitreous must be replaced by a normal one or its density built up again.

ABSTRACT

Using the electronograph, a special device which is capable to record luminous effects of the Corona and Kirlian types, the authors investigated 9 patients (6 males and 3 females) both before and during anesthetic sleep, and after arousal from anesthesia. In all the patients the studies were made on black-and-white, as well as on colour films.

ABSTRACT

The authors have investigated in 10 young and healthy men the changes occurring in the cardio-respiratory apparatus following the perfusion with non-colloid isotonie volemic solutions. Exploration of volumetry and of pulmonary mechanics have been performed, hemodynamic tests and pulmonary angiograms. The results indicate the development of slight interstitial oedema, without intra-alveolar transsudation or obstructive phenomena in the aerial pathways. The cardio-vascular apparatus shows satisfactory adaptability through central and peripheral mechanisms in conditions of hyperhydration.

ABSTRACT

The authors made an analysis of 165 general anesthesias applied in the digestive fibroendoscopy and they establish the technology and the indications of this method, as follows: 1) uncooperative patient (in this category should be included children, psychopaths, mentally deficient subjects and a certain category of neurotics); 2) when difficult endofibroscopies are to be expected, during which therapeutic procedures are highly probable, such as resection of polyps, coagulation of bleeding surfaces etc.; 3) lack of tolerance to local anesthetics; 4) optimal instruction conditions should be provided for the beginner anesthesist; 5) the authors recommend that all such anesthesies should be carried out in hospital only. They also suggest as the most reliable technique the intra-venous general anesthesia and the oro-tracheal intubation of the patient.
