ABSTRACT

Currently there are various tools based on Luria's neuropsychological assessment approach, but the empirical data on Spanish populations are limited. The main objective of this study is to review the scientific evidence on the psychometric properties of the Luria Spanish Battery for the Neuropsychological Diagnosis of Adults (Luria DNA). This aggregative study systematically reviews 14 scientific investigations (articles and doctoral dissertations) that use the Luria DNA. According to this review, the Luria DNA battery allows the detection of neuropsychological changes in people with different types of pathologies and intellectual disability. However, the normative evidence and clinical data are still scarce. Further investigations are needed in order to clarify the sensitivity and specificity of this battery in discriminating between older individuals with cognitive impairment and those that are cognitively healthy

ABSTRACT

The Affective Neuroscience Personality Scales have been designed to provide a personality assessment tool based on six distinct affective systems. The six neural systems involved were labeled PLAY, SEEK, CARE, FEAR, ANGER and SADNESS. Spirituality has been integrated into the questionnaire as a seventh dimension because, in opinion of Panksepp and his colleagues is one of the most interesting human emotion. The aim of the present paper was introduce the validation of the Spanish version of Affective Neuroscience Personality Scales and their first psychometric results in a sample of 411 college students. Participants completed the Spanish version of ANPS, just as a personality scale of five factors (NEO-FFI-R), and the Scales of Positive and Negative Affect (PANAS). The factor structure obtained and psychometric properties of the scales indicate that the Spanish version of the scales provides an effective tool to measure the seven dimensions of personality proposal in the original questionnaire.

ABSTRACT

The purpose of the present study was to investigate the effects of stimulus fragmentation on Stroop and emotional Stroop interference and facilitation effects when stimuli at all fragmentation levels were blocked by condition as well as when they were totally randomized across conditions. Under blocked conditions, in which stimuli from the same condition (e.g., congruent, incongruent, control conditions) at all levels of fragmentation were presented in the same block, interference appeared even at the most fragmented level, and increased linearly until level 8. The same occurred with facilitation. Randomized designs, on the other hand, showed that interference did no appear until level 4 and increased linearly until level 8, whereas facilitation disappeared. Previous work from our laboratory showed that words are objectively identified at level 4. The findings suggest the existence of a response set in blocked designs, which in turn may speak against the automaticity of the Stroop effect (AU)
