ABSTRACT

In this study, we report a facile, environmental friendly fabrication of a type of magnetic metal-organic framework (MOF) MIL-100 that can be used for magnetic solid-phase extraction (MSPE). The magnetic MOF composites were fabricated using in situ calcination method. The as-synthesized materials exhibited both high porosity and magnetic characteristics. They used for the MSPE of polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs) from water samples. Such MOF-based magnetic solid-phase extraction in combination with gas chromatography equipped with a flame ionization detector (GC-FID), exhibited wide linearity (0.02-250µgL-1), low detection limits (4.6-8.9ngL-1), and high enrichment factors (452-907) for PAHs. The relative standard deviations (RSDs) for intra- and inter-day extractions of PAHs were ranging from 1.7% to 9.8% and 3.8% to 9.2%, respectively. The recoveries for spiked PAHs (1µgL-1) in water samples were in the range of 88.5% to 106.6%. The results showed that the special anion-π orbital (electron donor-acceptor) interaction and π-π stacking between magnetic MIL-100 and PAHs play an important role in the adsorption of PAHs.

ABSTRACT

OBJECTIVE: To investigate the sleep quality and influencing factors of perimenopausal women in Ningbo region. METHODS: A total of 527 perimenopausal women who lived in Ningbo for more than 5 years were enrolled in the study. The subjects were surveyed by self-designed questionnaire and Pittsburgh sleep quality index (PSQI); PSQI > 7 was defined as the cut-off value for sleep quality. Data were analyzed by software SPSS 11.0. RESULT: The mean PSQI score was 5.79 ± 3.08 and 23.6 % of perimenopausal women in the study showed poor sleep quality. The proportion of poor sleep in 55-60 age group was 40.2%, significantly higher than that of 40-44, 45-49 and 50-54 age groups (P < 0.05). The sleep quality was associated with physical exercise, social activity, sleep circumstance, anxiety and family income in perimenopausal women. CONCLUSION: The sleep quality of perimenopausal women and the influencing factors are associated with mental health, life style and social environment, which suggests that some interventions should be undertaken to improve the sleep quality of perimenopausal women.

ABSTRACT

A rapid and simple method for the study of the acupuncture effect on monoamine transmitters and related compounds in rabbit plasma and brain tissue by high performance liquid chromatography with electrochemical detection was developed. An ODS column was selected as the separation column at 25 degrees C, and pH 4.50, 0.02 mol/L of trisodium citrate-0.05 mol/L sodium phosphate dibasic to methanol (95:5, volume ratio) without ion-pair at a flow rate of 1.0 mL/min. Four compounds, epinephrine (E), norepinephrine (NE), dopamine (DA) and 5-hydroxytryptamine (5-HT), were simultaneously separated and determined under the above conditions. Twenty rabbits were investigated after the acupuncture action upon the central neurotransmitters. The sufficient data showed that acupuncture could significantly affect the activities of the neurotransmitters including E, NE, DA and 5-HT, and the changed functions of the neurotransmitter systems induced by acupuncture not only lead to the neurotransmitter content increase both in brain and plasma but also cause the increase of rabbit breed ability. The results show that the method is very simple and fast. The method is valuable not only for clinical diagnosis but also for research work.
