ABSTRACT

Mucosal melanomas are rare, representing 3% of malignant nasosinusal tumors. Their prognosis is poor. A case of malignant melanoma of the nasal septum is presented. A bibliographic review was made and the incidence, clinical features, diagnosis, treatment, and prognosis of these tumors are discussed.

ABSTRACT

The Paget disease is a chronic osteodystrophy of unknown etiology, very frequent in 50 years of age and above. It's an anatomo-radiologic syndrome that sometimes, is accompanied by clinical symptoms. May be monostotic or polyostotic but never generalized. Occasionally it affects the temporal bone producing deafness, tinnitus and vertigo. We report a case with important temporal bone demineralization, deafness and vertigo.

ABSTRACT

Relapsing polychondritis is an infrequently recognized disease. Its etiology is unknown. It is characterized by recurrent and potentially destructive inflammatory lesions involving cartilaginous structures, the cardiovascular system and some sensory organs. We report a patient with important tracheal stenosis, vestibulo cochlear dysfunction and polyarthritis. We present a literature review.

ABSTRACT

Osteomas are non-malignant tumours made of bone with sclerosis in some degree which are seen inside the bones or sticking out of them. They are not very frequent but it is not rare to see them in the paranasal cavity, specially in the frontal sinus, and they are very frequent in the temporal bone. It is presented a case through which a bibliographic review of these tumours in these places is made.
