The results of treatment of 50 patients with ovarian cancer (serous carcinoma) are reported. At the first step all the patients were treated surgically. Following the operation the combined chemotherapy was employed with three schedules: 1. 5-fluoruracil-cyclophosphane--26 patients; 2. 5-fluoruracil-cyclophosphane-methotrexate-hexamethyl melamine--16 patients; 3. fluorofur-cyclophosphane-methotrexate-hexamethyl melamine--8 patients. An analysis of the results of the treatment in ovarian cancer patients has demonstrated that a positive therapeutic effect may be gained using each of the schedules of the polychemotherapy employed, of special importance being such factors as the degree of tumor proliferation, radicality of surgical intervention and the magnitude of toxic reactions of antitumor drugs.
