ABSTRACT
Se realizó un estudio, descriptivo y transversal entre la población femenina, mayor de 15 años atendida en el municipio de Holguín, para caracterizar la violencia hacia la mujer en el periodo de junio - diciembre de 2007. Se aplicó una encuesta a las 88 mujeres que constituyeron la muestra de la investigación. El grupo de edad de 31 a 40 años y las amas de casa fueron las más afectadas; el tipo de violencia más frecuentemente encontrada fue la psicológica y el domicilio el lugar donde se constató mayor violencia. Se recomendó realizar estudios posteriores para modificar la percepción sobre la violencia hacia las féminas de este municipio...(AU)
A descriptive and cross-sectional study in female population older than 15 years old in Holguin municipality, aimed at characterizing violence against women from June to December 20O7 was carried out. A survey was applied to 88 women that conformed the sample. The age group between 31 and 40 years old and the housewives were the most affected ones. The psychological violence was the predominant one, and home was the place in which violence was frequently found.
