ABSTRACT
Introducción: Al servicio de prótesis acuden pacientes solicitando tratamiento de urgencia por agresión al órgano paraprotético.Objetivo: Determinar las lesiones más frecuentes en los diferentes elementos del sistema estomatognático dañados según las características de las prótesis en uso.Métodos: Se realizó un estudio observacional, descriptivo y transversal en la clínica estomatológica de Güines Andrés Ortiz Junco, desde septiembre de 2018 a abril del 2019. Se realizó el interrogatorio, el examen de la cavidad bucal y de las prótesis. Los datos se recogieron en una planilla y se aplicó X2 para el análisis estadístico. Los resultados se presentaron en tablas y se utilizó el porcentaje como unidad resumen. Resultados: El 78.03 por ciento presentó lesiones a la mucosa. La estomatitis subprótesis (64.02 por ciento), las úlceras traumáticas (9.55 por ciento), las mialgias (4.92 por ciento) y el épulis fisurado (4.17 por ciento) fueron las principales lesiones. El 46.97 por ciento de las prótesis eran totales, el 59.85 por ciento estaban en mal estado y eran de más de 10 años de uso el 36.74 por ciento.Conclusión: La mucosa es el elemento más dañado. La estomatitis subprótesis, las ulceras traumáticas, las mialgias y los épulis fisurados son las principales lesiones, con predominio en las prótesis totales, en mal estado y de más de 10 años de uso(AU)
Introduction: Patients go to the Prostheses Service asking for emergency treatment for aggression to the paraprosthetic organ.Objective: To determine the most frequent lesions in the different elements of the dental system damaged according to the characteristics of the prostheses in use.Methods: An observational, descriptive, cross-sectional study was carried out at Andrés Ortiz Junco Dental Clinic, in Güines, from September, 2018 to April, 2019. An interview, the oral cavity and prosthesis examination were performed. The data was collected in a form X2 was applied for the statistical analysis. The results were presented in tables and the percentage was used as a summary unit.Results: The 78.03 per cent presented lesions in the mucosa. Sub-prostheses stomatitis (64.02 per cent), traumatic ulcers (9.55 per cent), myalgia (4.92 per cent) and the fissured epulis (4.17 per cent) were the main lesions. The 46.97 per cent of the prostheses were total, the 59.85 per cent were in bad state and they had more than 10 years of use, 36.74 per cent.Conclusion: The mucosa is the most damaged element.
