ABSTRACT

Lipoblastoma is an rare benign tumors of infancy of fetal adipose tissue, that usually affect infants and children less than 3 years of age. A case of lipoblastoma is reported in a two and a half years old male minor, located at 2 cm above the left popliteal plait. The tumor was completely excised surgically. The clinical diagnosis of lipoblastoma was confirmed pathologically. This experience is illustrative for the orthopaedic surgeon, because it shows the importance to performe a complete clinical examination in all patients, to avoid the omission in the diagnosis of this pathology.
