ABSTRACT

Technology for producing biologically active recombinant alpha2b-interferon is based on creating a bacterial producer strain containing the cDNA of human interferon alpha. The authors have obtained two producers of recombinant alpha2b-interferon, the synthesis of the target protein in them occurs in the inclusion bodies. The schemes of isolation and purification of biologically active recombinant alpha2b-interferon have been developed. The drug purity was approximately 97-98%. Biological activity in the culture of sensory cells in the cytopathic test was 4.2*10(8)ME/mg.

ABSTRACT

Morphologic studies, carried out by three methods, by van Gieson's, Schmorl's methods, and with the use of 0.1% solution of safranin T, have revealed heretofore unknown structures lying beyond the tooth rudiment of white noninbred rats and disappearing in the course of ontogenesis. The mechanism of the formation of autonomic circulation of the dental follicle, unrelated to the animal body, has been shown. Dental follicular tissues were found grown together with the gingival epithelium and they ruptured during tooth eruption.

ABSTRACT

Two restrictases Nli387/7 I and Nli387/7 II have been isolated from cyanobacterium Nostoc linckia using chromatography on phosphocellulose, "Mono Q" column, and heparin sepharose 4B. The preparations are described by the method of electrophoresis in polyacrylamide gel under denaturing conditions. Catalytic properties of restrictases are determined: optimal pH of the action--9.0--9.5, optimal concentration of Na+--5 mM, that of Mg2+--6 mM, optimal temperature--37 degrees C. The isolated enzymes are isoschizomers of restrictases avaI and AvaII. The point of cutting is determined for enzyme Nli387/7 I. It is shown that restrictase Nli387/7 I is a false isoschizomer Ava I.

ABSTRACT

The authors describe a patient with abnormal development of the cervical vertebrae and the formation of a block typical of the Klippel-Weil syndrome, as well as craniovertebral synostosis with the complete absence of the atlantooccipital joint, a bizarre and complicated course of the canals of vertebral arteries and sublingual nerves. They also outline the mechanisms of the possible development in such conditions of neurological symptomatology and disorders of cerebral, spinal and radiculo-neural blood circulation.

ABSTRACT

The effect of 3 types of milk diet (breast milk, ordinary milk mixtures and adapted "Vitalact" milk) on young infants was studied and compared. It was found that the rate of metabolic processes, physical development and health depend to a great extent on the degree of the diet supply with basic food substances. "Vitalact" milk is a full-value foodstuff had meets all the infants' requirements of basic food substances and biologically active factors. High rate of bioenergy processes in the body attained as a result of feeding with balanced diet and its optimal supply with polyunsaturated fatty acids in addition to vitamins A and E favours anabolic efficacy of food protein daily requirement to 3.5 g/kg body weight under conditions of formula feeding.
