In his testimony as a survivor, in the "necessity" that moved him to become a writer and make his experience known, Primo Levi has transmitted the devastating effects of the de-subjectivising experience in the Extermination Camps. Reflecting upon the causes and the implications of this " immense biological and social experiment," as he defines it, Levi the story teller, on the other hand, ponders on the issue of segregation in our own times, on the heritage the camps have bequeathed on the present, establishing a disquieting continuity between past aberrations and present normality, showing beyond any doubt how the present is subtly interwoven by the logic of the past. In his play Sleeping Beauty in the Fridge, Levi shows with great acumen and perspicacity the strict relationship between science, new technologies, and subjective alienation, as well as the ways in which normality, and the tranquility of a prosperous life, are in fact the product of a bio-political normativity, universally accepted with careless complicity.

Uma nota sobre a diferenciação estrutural de Freud entre neurose e perversão / A note on freud’s structural differentiation between neurosis and perversion

A autora apresenta uma visão geral da elaboração de Freud a respeito da diferenciação entre neurose e perversão. Enfatiza o modo pelo qual o sujeito se relaciona com a configuração edípica – o modo que decide a sua relação com a castração, com a realidade, com o desejo e com seus objetos. Estruturas diferentes estão relacionadas a mecanismos psíquicos específicos, que manifestam diferentes soluções para a interdição edípica (recalque na neurose e denegação na perversão), o que também é importante na condução da transferência e do próprio tratamento psicanalítico.(AU)

The author presents an overview of Freud’s elaboration of disawoal, considering the question of the differentiation between neurosis and perversion. She emphasizes the way in which the subject relates to the oedipal configuration – the way that decides his relation to castration, to reality, to desire and to his objects. Different structures are related to specific psychic mechanisms, that manifest different solutions to the oedipal interdiction (repression in neurosis and disawoal in perversion), what is also important in dealing with the transference and the psychoanalytic treatment itself.(AU)

The sustained effort in several countries to regulate and define the legislative level of psychoanalysis’s practice confronts in a radical way analytical act and legal act, and imposes rethinking about their specificities and incommensurability. This effort takespart, among others, in a social reality in transformation that involves an extension of the concept of law. The legal norms, while producing consumption in current constitutional democracies and in today’s global market represent a specific role in that change.(AU)
