[The possibilities for the primary recovery of intestinal continuity in complicated cancer of the left half of the colon]. / Vozmozhnosti pervichnogo vosstanovleniia kishechnoi nepreryvnosti pri oslozhnennom rake levoi poloviny obodochnoi kishki.

In 80 patients with complicated clinical course of carcinoma of the left half of the colon the primary restoration of the intestinal continuity was fulfilled (in 47 patients left-side hemicolectomy, in 15 patients subtotal colectomy, in 15 patients-Hartman operations). Postoperative complications were observed in 18 patients (22.5%), 7 patients died (8.8%). Functional long-term results were favorable in most patients. The clinical experience obtained suggests that primary restoration of the intestinal continuity deserves special attention in a number of cases.
