ABSTRACT

In the review mechanisms of protective action of a hyperthermia, light and low-intensity ultrasonic radiation are considered. These physical factors don't cause oxygen starvation, however promote the increase of organ's tolerance to an ischemia/hypoxia. On materials of original articles the analysis of preconditioning mechanisms cause by high temperatures, low-intensive ultrasonic and laser irradiation was carried out at ischemia. By comparison of processes in tissues at influence by physical factors the general triggers--active forms of oxygen (O2*, H2O2, HO*) were revealed.

ABSTRACT

The effect of morphine (0.02 and 0.05 mg/ml) and pentazocine (0.05, 0.1, and 0.2 mg/ml) on blood platelet aggregation induced by thrombin, ADP, and epinephrine was studied. The results of the study provide evidence of the dose-dependent effect of opiates on human and rat blood platelets, and some species characteristics. Certain differences in the intensity of aggregation depending on the content of extracellular Ca2+ ions were disclosed.

ABSTRACT

Laser-induced thrombosis was used for studying of thrombogenic properties and thromboresistance of microvessels after total gamma irradiation with a dose of 2 Gy. The increased time of primary haemostasis was stated during postirradiation period. The area of thrombus section was reduced both in the arterioles and the venules after 1 month. But the normalization of this parameter is more intense in the venules.

ABSTRACT

Platelet aggregation in rats was investigated after total gamma-irradiation with a dose of 2 Gr. At period postirradiation repair the phase character of changes of some aggregation parametres was discovered. After 2-6 months the main direction of age changes of aggregation activity was preserved, but disaggregation time was lesser then in control group.

ABSTRACT

Serotonin content and accumulation in platelets and its release from them, as well as changes in thrombus formation in mesenteric arterioles and venules of the small intestine have been investigated in control rats and rats with spontaneous hypertension (SHR). Serotonin accumulation in platelets was determined upon its incubation with platelets. Disodium ADP salt was used as an inductor of release. Laser-induced thrombosis was caused by microvessels exposure to impulse laser irradiation. The control animals revealed a significant difference between the initial serotonin platelet level and serotonin level upon incubation and release; in values, the values of basic thrombus-forming parameters were higher than in arterioles. In SHR there is a decrease in biogenic amine content in platelets, a depression in its accumulation and release, an increase in the time of thrombus growth, its size up to the separation of the first embolus and its length along the vascular wall. It is concluded that spontaneous hypertension is characterized by decreased functional activity of platelets and depressed resistance of arterioles and venules to thrombus formation.

ABSTRACT

A study of 115 lung cancer patients has shown that indications to the use of multi-modality gammascintigraphy or its separate variants are as follows: the presence of the clinical manifestations of distant metastases, data on a considerable local dissemination of a primary tumor to the lungs, poor differentiation by the histological structure.

ABSTRACT

The diagnostic value of Ga-67 citrate scintigraphy was estimated based on the comparison of clinical and roentgenological findings, including lymphography, in 46 patients with lymphogranulomatosis and other malignant lymphomas. The results obtained indicated that scintigraphy with Ga-67 citrate is a valuable adjunct for diagnosing malignant lymphomas and lymphogranulomatosis in previously untreated patients and in the recurrences.

ABSTRACT

Based on the clinico-morphological estimation of scannograms, performed by means of sodium selenite--selenium-75, chloromercury-197 and gallium citrate-67 in 231 patients with tumor (185) and nontumor (46) lung diseases, it was found that the best results were obtained in scannographic visualization of primary tumors of the lung (87%). Positive scintigraphy was found to be of high diagnostic value in recognition of lung cancer proceeding against the background of atelectasis, inflammatory processes and other "disguises" hampering the clinico-roentgenological diagnosis. Positive scintigraphy may be employed in establishing the differential diagnosis between malignant and benign lung tumors.

ABSTRACT

In rats with transplantable tumors of different histological structure the authors have studied the dynamics of gallium-67 citrate distribution in tumors, adjacent tissues and blood. It has been found that gallium-67 is able to be accumulated in increased amounts in all tumors irrespective of their histological type. Tumor image in scannograms was mostly distinct on the 2--3d day after injection of gallium-67 citrate, when there was the greatest difference in accumulation of the isotope in the tumor and surrounding "intact" tissues.
