ABSTRACT
Trata-se de um estudo exploratório e transversal, de cunho quantitativo, que buscou conhecer as potencialidades e limitações da Saúde Suplementar sob a visão de cirurgiões-dentistas prestadores de serviços. Por meio de uma correspondência eletrônica, os cirurgiões registrados no Conselho Regional de Odontologia de Santa Catarina e com endereço eletrônico foram convidados a participar, respondendo a um questionário on-line com questões fechadas e abertas. Os resultados das respostas dos 157 participantes indicaram que o credenciamento interfere na autonomia profissional; a principal insatisfação está relacionada ao baixo retorno financeiro; há diminuição da qualidade do atendimento em comparação ao privado; a maioria pretende se descredenciar. Mas reconhecem que o credenciamento tende a aumentar o fluxo de pacientes, compartilham a preocupação em desenvolver uma assistência ética e consideram que o crescimento do setor é positivo para a população. Tais resultados permitem uma melhor compreensão dos conflitos vivenciados no âmbito da microrregulação da atenção à saúde bucal e apontam para a necessidade de uma intervenção mais direta por parte da Agência Nacional de Saúde.
This is an exploratory cross-sectional study, with quantitative nature, which has as major goal to know the capabilities and limitations of the Suplimentary Health considering the vision of dentists. Through an email, all Dental Surgeons registered in the Regional Council of Dentistry of Santa Catarina were invited to participate by answering an online questionnaire with closed and open questions. The results of the responses of 157 participants indicated that credentialing interferes with professional autonomy; the main dissatisfaction relates to the low financial return; there is a decrease in the quality of services offered comparing to private services; most of them intend to leave health insurances. However, they recognize that working for these companies tend to increase the patients flow, they share the concern to develop an ethical assistance and they consider that the sector's growth is good for the population. These results make it possible to have a better understanding when it comes to the conflicts between dentists and insurances companies, and they point to the need for a more direct intervention by the National Health Agency.
