ABSTRACT

The aim of the study was to assess alveolar bone resorption in patients with periodontal disease and individuals with normal periodontal status and coordinate resorbtion rates with tooth mobility. Tooth mobility was measured in 19 patients with periodontal disease and 17 healthy individuals by two-parametrical periodontometry in two different positions: in equilibrium and after pre-loading. The level of bone resorption was determined by periodontal probe. Previously unknown correlation between tooth mobility and alveolar bone resorption was found out meaning that bone atrophy can be determined by tooth mobility.

ABSTRACT

The tooth resonance frequency method for periodontal condition diagnostics was compared with apparatus measurement of the tooth mobility in vivo. Tooth natural frequency and tooth mobility were correlated with clinical condition of tooth supporting structure. According to the condition of tooth supporting structure stability zones were indentified. The squared dependence between tooth natural frequency and the value of tooth mobility was revealed. The resonance frequency method is more exact for clinical assessment of periodontal tissues in comparison with instrumental measurement of the tooth mobility.

ABSTRACT

The periodontal condition was investigated by means of tooth natural frequency assessment. The correlation between tooth natural frequency and mobility was found out. The comparative estimation of percussion and spectral methods for natural frequency assessment revealed the percussion method to be more complicates because the initial acoustic signal is disturbed by external noises and hammer sound. The spectral method allows receiving reliable and reproducible results when using modified two-parametrical periodontometer.

ABSTRACT

The analysis of quality of teeth preparation was carried out at manufacturing of metal-ceramic crowns. The taper of 57 prepared teeth was assessed on working casts in vestibulo-oral and medio-distal projections by means of an original technique. In most cases excessive taper was observed, sometimes up to 50°. The taper was greater in vestibulo-oral plane than in medio-distal plane.

ABSTRACT

Paper is devoted to the actual problem in stomatology - removable dentures influence upon the intensity of prosthetic bed relief changes. Study of prosthetic bed relief in patients who for 2 years had used plate removable and clasp dental prostheses was done. The most pronounced prosthetic bed relief changes were seen under plate type of prostheses with prolonged defects the least - in patients with plate type of prostheses with short defects. In cases of end defects under clasp dental prostheses changes of prosthetic bed relief exceeded relief changes under plate type of prostheses during all terms of use. Based upon the received data algorithm of patient conducting during different terms of use by plate removable and clasp dental prostheses.

ABSTRACT

The study was carried out on 21 teeth before and after their removal in 9 patients. Mechanical parameters of the dental supporting-retaining system were studied with a two-parametrical periodontometer, which evaluates the tooth mobility and angle of losses, characterizing the internal friction in the tooth-periodontium-bone system. The in vitro area of the periodontium was evaluated using millimeter paper. A direct relationship between the angle of losses and periodontal area was revealed. The authors suggest using a coefficient of propotionateness between the periodontal area and angle of losses; this coefficient does not depend on the tooth mobility and periodontal area.

ABSTRACT

A new method for evaluating mobility of a tooth and area of its periodontium is suggested. The evaluation of elastic and viscous components of tooth mobility is based on theoretical estimations. Clinical evaluations of tooth mobility were carried out in patients with physiologically normal periodontium making use of a two-parametrical periodontometer. Experiments demonstrated that the ratio of elastic to viscous components of the tooth mobility is proportionate to periodontal area. Two-parameter periodontometer gives data on complete mobility of a tooth and periodontal area.

ABSTRACT

In 92 patients with various chronic affections of the gastro-intestinal tract vitamins C and B1 content in the blood and urine was measured. As controls 17 healthy persons were examined. Patients with gastro-intestinal affections were found to show a statistically significant fall of the vitamins C and B1 level in the blood and urine at all seasons of the year (winter, spring, summer and fall). But their decline is most intensive with exacerbation of the ailment and then the presence of the pain syndrome is attended by a steeper drop in the level of these vitamins. A course-wise parenteral administration of the vitamins C and B1 results in their statistically significant rise in the blood and urine, their level, however, remaining below that in healthy persons.
