ABSTRACT

Results of morphological investigation of musculo-aponeurotic structures of anterior abdominal wall were presented in the morbid obesity patients. The role of obesity as a primary cause for morphofunctional insufficience of musculo-aponeurotic structures was established.

ABSTRACT

Scientists have been carrying out plasma energy research with the aim to apply to surgical practice. Domestic plasma devices "SUPR-M", "Fakel-01", "Gemoplaz-VP" and "Plazon" passed tests and were approved not only in clinical practice but also in condition of armed conflicts. Biological influence of air-plasma flows on tissues was examined. Nitrogen oxide (NO) is continuously produced in humans and animals involving enzymatic NO-synthase (NOS), acting as a universal regulator of diverse biological and physiological processes. Comparative analysis of the treatment of gunshot wounds and infectious complications clearly demonstrated the efficacy of using plasma flows at the final stage of surgical treatment. Use in military surgery, oncology, urology and gynecology, thoracic and abdominal surgery should be considered as a promising direction of this technology.

ABSTRACT

The Goos-Hänchen effect and Fano resonance are studied in photonic crystals that are considered Fourier counterparts in wave-vector-coordinate space. The Goos-Hänchen effect, which is enhanced by the excitation of Bloch surface electromagnetic waves, is visualized using far-field microscopy and measured at the surface of photonic crystals by angular spectroscopy. The maximal Goos-Hänchen shift is observed to be 66 µm.

ABSTRACT

In spite of considerable success in the study of basic pathogenetic mechanisms of arrhythmias development in patients without diabetes mellitus 2 type (DM), the problem of impact of DM on disorders of the cardiac rhythm of patients with acute myocardial infarction is still not resolved. Disorders of the cardiac rhythm have been analyzed in all groups of patients. So, the first group of patients, for certain, had more patients with fibrillation and palpitation of auricles, i.e. hypoglycemia more frequent induced the development of supra ventricular disorders of cardiac rhythm. Fibrillation of auricles, for certain, was more frequently observed in the group of patients with Hba1c less than 7 mkmol/l (P < 0,001). Single VE (ventricular extra systoles) and SVE (supra ventricular extra systoles) prevailed in the 2nd group. Patients with Hba1c more than 9 mkmol/l and hyperglycemia episodes prevailed with ventricular disorders, namely ventricular extra systoles of high degree. Thus, hypoglycemia provokes the development of supra ventricular disorders of the cardiac rhythm in a greater degree, while hyperglycemia results in the development of ventricular disorders of the cardiac rhythm.

ABSTRACT

Morphological changes were studied of gastritis in patients with ulcer localized in the upper, middle thirds of the stomach, in its antral segment, and in patients with ulcer in the bulb of duodenum, the former two groups of patients displaying mild inflammation/activity if any, the latter ones showing a high to moderate degree of inflammation and activity of gastritis identifiable in the antral segment of the stomach. The findings secured can be helpful in the diagnosis of gastritis of different localization, prognostication of the course of the illness, and adoption of adequate therapy.
