ABSTRACT
El término camptocormia incluye aqueltrastorno caracterizado por una excesiva flexión anteriordel tronco que se mantiene en bipedestación y durante lamarcha, y cuyo rasgo fundamental es la reductibilidad endecúbito supino. En algunas ocasiones se asocia al síndromede cabeza caída o dropped head syndrome, en la que seen cuen tra una inclinación hacia delante de la cabeza pordebilidad de la musculatura posterior del cuello.Objetivos. Actualizar los conocimientos etiopatogénicossobre las posturas anómalas en flexión de tronco y cuello,así como evaluar los tratamientos médicos y rehabilitadotesdescritos en la literatura.Estrategia de búsqueda. Se ha realizado una revisión de losartículos publicados desde el año 1996 hasta marzo de 2009obtenidos mediante una búsqueda realizada en Google y Pub-Med. Se incluyeron los artículos en español, inglés y francés.Selección de estudios. Se seleccionaron los estudios quehacían referencia a la etiología, patogenia, clasificación ytratamiento médico y rehabilitador a partir del análisis delresumen de los artículos, siendo finalmente incluidos en labibliografía veinte artículos(AU)
The term camptocormia includes a disordercharacterized by an excessive anterior trunk flexionsustained while standing and walking, whose key feature isthe reductibility in the supine position. It is sometimes associatedwith head drop syndrome or dropped head syndrome, in which there is a forward tilt of the head producedby weakness of the posterior neck muscles.Objectives. To update an understanding on etiopathogenicabnormal postures in trunk and neck flexions, as well asevaluating medical and rehabilitation treatments describedin the literature.Search strategy. We have reviewed articles publishedfrom the year 1996 to March 2009 obtained through searchson PubMed and Google. We have included articles publishedin Spanish, English and French.Study selection. We have selected studies related to etiology,pathogenesis, classification and medical and re habilitationtreatments from analysis of the summary of the articles;twenty articles were finally included in the bi bliography(AU)
