ABSTRACT
Over 10 years 1296 patients with an uncomplicated form of varicose disease were treated with compressive sclerotherapy before surgery. Sclerotherapy was performed as the first stage of complex treatment in combination with various surgeries. Over the last 5 years Doppler ultrasound study and coloured angioscanning were carried out in each patient before treatment. There were a total 1457 surgeries. The majority of the patients (916) were examined 4 months to 6 years postoperatively. The results of the treatment were good in 91.6% patients, the rate of recurrence after surgery did exceed not 4.03%. This complex therapy enhances the cosmetic effect and shortens the time treatment without loss for radicality.

One-stage combination of thrombectomy on the thigh with compressive sclerotherapy is proposed. This method was used in 66 patients with acute thrombophlebitis of greater saphenous vein (GSV) trunk. It permitted to improve treatment quality, to reduce the scope of subsequent radical operation and to improve its cosmetic result. There were no intraoperative complications. All the patients were discharged in satisfactory state, repeated radical operation for varicose veins of the leg was recommended.

The use of sodium chloride baths for preoperative treatment of lower-limb trophic ulcers in 60 patients relieved the pain of the ulcer, enhanced repair processes. Epithelialization occurred in 9 patients. The duration of the hospital stay and the number of postoperative complications reduced.

A technique of subfascial electrocoagulation of the communicating shin veins through an endoscope in 53 patients with varicose dilatation of the lower extremity veins and postthrombophlebitis syndrome is described. The technique is not complicated and gives good cosmetic results.

Conduction anesthesia with 1-2% solution of trimekain or novokain with a vasoconstrictor was used in 142 operations on the upper and lower extremities. The technique of blockade of nerve trunks of the upper and lower extremities is described. Good results of the anesthesia were obtained. There were only two complications, no lethal outcomes.
