ABSTRACT

The performed studies showed that patients with active phase pulmonary tuberculosis have their T-system function suppressed, that of B-system activated, this phenomenon being the most marked in those patients with fibrocavernous tuberculosis. Increase in the activity of phagocytes was more common in patients with infiltrative tuberculosis. The immunity system state in subjects with non-active post tuberculous alterations did not depart from normal values. DNA and RNA concentrations were decreased in those patients having more pronounced immunologic disturbances (infiltrative and fibrocavernous tuberculosis), reparative capacity of RNA being altered only in patients with focal tuberculosis. Strong correlation was established between immunologic and cytogenetic indices.

ABSTRACT

The comparative dynamics of intoxication and natural humoral organism resistance indexes in elderly and senile patients with burn disease of middle degree severity while application of generally used therapy and incorporating in treatment complex the enterosgel preparation prescribed since 24 hours after injury occurrence was studied. Under the enterosgel influence the intoxication syndrome intensity has been markedly decreased, what promoted the skin loss restoration, favourable burn disease course, mortality reduction, and the shortening of patients hospital stay.

ABSTRACT

In the experiment, the age peculiarities of the detoxication system of the liver in burn disease and the effect of enterosgel on them were studied. Decrease in hydroxylase and demethylase activity of hepatic microsomes in relatively stable activity of oxidoreductase as well as increase in activity of aminotransferases, especially that of alanine aminotransferase, which was more pronounced in aged animals, was noted. Under the influence of enterosorption, the increase in functional activity of monooxygenase system of the liver and stabilization of hepatocytic membranes are more pronounced in young animals. This contributed to reduction in lethality, activation of natural mechanisms of detoxication and reparative processes.

ABSTRACT

Thirty-eight patients with infectious-allergic bronchial asthma and thirty-four ones with chronic obstructive bronchitis were exposed to laser irradiation of blood. Control group given standard chemotherapy, consisted of 30 bronchial asthma and 30 chronic obstructive bronchitis patients. The immunity assessed in both groups exhibited the following changes in the study patients: T-lymphocytes count rose as well as their proliferative ability and concentration of immunoglobulins, the activity of oxygen-dependent metabolism inhibited, neutrophil absorptive capacity reduced. Restoration of normal cell function can serve a criteria of on-going laser therapy efficacy.

ABSTRACT

The effectiveness of endobronchial low-energy laser therapy was studied in 28 patients with chronic nonobstructive bronchitis concurrent with thinning of bronchial mucosa. The course of treatment made it possible to obtain positive dynamics of most parameters of immunologic reactivity in CNB patients. Systemic immunity parameters, except for the NST and concentration of circulating immune complexes, underwent essential normalization. Marked positive changes were found in the parameters characterizing functional activity of alveolar macrophages: there was a 2.5-fold increase in adhesive properties and over 1.3-fold increase in the percentage of phagocytes. The level of secretory IgA rose significantly (by 3.5 times). Hence, a manifested therapeutic effect of this therapeutic method is mainly associated with its immune-stimulating action.
