ABSTRACT

Pathological immune complexes (PIC) are revealed in high percent (100%) of cases by placental immunomorphological studies in insulin-dependent tissue. This leads to the development of an immunopathological process in the placental tissue. Parallel electron microscopy shows that some placental vessels are in close contact with the basal membrane of syncytiotrophoblast. PIC deposition in the area of confluence of the basal membranes of a syncytiotrophoblast and the vascular endothelium, which act as filters, results in the destruction of the basal membranes to rupture formation, causing the transplacental transport of substances together with immune complexes in the form of endocytotic vacuoles from the intervillous lacuna directly to the vessel. Active proliferation of vascular endotheliocyes leads to typical angiopathy as the body's defense reaction.

ABSTRACT

BACKGROUND: The HLA-DPB1 gene is probably one of HLA class II genes affecting the haematopoietic stem cell transplantation. The aim of the study was to analyse the HLA-DPB1 gene and its match/mismatch in patients transplanted from unrelated HSC donors. The PCR-SSP method was used for the typing of the HLA system. METHODS AND RESULTS: The cohort consisted of 201 pairs of patient/unrelated HSC donor. Match in HLA-A, -B, -Cw, -DRBI and -DQBI (e.g. 10/10 match) was found in 81 pairs. The HLA-DPBI was tested in them. 18 different HLA-DPBI alleles were identified in this cohort. Complete match (e.g.12/12) was detected in 3% of the 201 analysed pairs only. CONCLUSIONS: The probability of finding 12/12 matching unrelated HSC donor is limited due to the high percentage of mismatches and inaccessibility of previous HLA-DPB1 results.

ABSTRACT

The effect of alpha-tocopherol administered in a dose of 15 and 150 mg/kg on the erythron system was studied in rats subjected to chronic nitrite intoxication. The chronic poisoning with sodium nitrite led to three-phase changes in the concentration of erythrocytes (RBC count) and hemoglobin and to activation of the erythropoiesis and erythrophagocytosis processes. The introduction of alpha-tocopherol on the background of intoxication with sodium nitrite prevents from the development of erythropenia, causes erythrocytosis (in large doses), decreases the degree of cytoarchitectonic changes, and reduces the erythropoiesis and erythrophagocytosis activity.

ABSTRACT

Results of operative treatment of 100 patients with long-standing persistent contractures of the knee joint and partial defects of condyles of joint ends were studied. The treatment used allowed to obtain favorable results in majority of the patients and to return working ability to the patients. The application of perosseous apparatuses and allotransplantation make the potentialities of reconstructive surgery of the knee joint much wider.

ABSTRACT

In the article are presented the modern possibilities of surgical treatment of posttraumatic inveterate defects of articular ends of tibia on the basis of alloplasty and perosseous osteosynthesis application. There are described indications for operation, its, peculiarities due to accompanying injuries, methods of postoperative rehabilitation, complications. There has been stated that the application of perosseous apparatus, allowing for early joint functioning, ensures reduction of the patient treatment terms by 2 times under the conditions of unloading of the osteochondrous allotransplant. Favourable functional outcomes have been achieved with the predominant number of the operated patients and what's more, two-thirds of the results were assesses as good ones.

ABSTRACT

On the basis of 274 observations the authors stated the conception of staged roentgenologic course of the osseous tissue regeneration in case of close distraction of rigid false joints according to G. A. Ilizarov. In line with visual appraisal of roentgenograms there were used roentgenometry and densitometry. There are described in details the stages of reparative regeneration and in accordance with them are given the tactical recommendation as to the selection of the distraction rate and its duration, the terms of loading and immobilization of fractures by means of perosseous apparatus. The tactics of the patient control with regard to the peculiarities of osteogenesis in the process of distraction allowed to decrease the number of failures in treatment of false joints by 2 times.

ABSTRACT

The authors present their results of early prognosis of the outcomes of the treatment of 68 patients with consequences of injuries and with orthopaedic diseases of tubular bones applying the method of distraction for the recovery of the intact state and the length of the extremity. The method of prognosing the course of the bone tissue regeneration was used. It was established that this method of prognosis was characterized by low diagnosis errors (4.4%), allowed to reveal 71.5% of the patients with disturbances of osteogenesis and to recognize practically all patients with a favourable course of the process. Early prognosis allows to make corrections in the therapeutic tactics, which contributes to reduction in the number of unfavourable outcomes connected with the use of distraction osteosynthesis in clinical practice.
