ABSTRACT

The article describes the effectiveness of the treatment of chronic apical periodontitis in one visit compared to multiple visits. A systematic review of the literature was conducted analyzing articles published on PubMed, Google scholar, ResearchGate and ScienceDirect between 2011 and 2021, treatment effectiveness was the selected outcome variable. A total of 21 articles were selected, 9 of which were selected for detailed review. Chief question in this article was: which treatment approach is more effective? Cleaning, Shaping, disinfecting and obturating in one visit? Or multiple (two) visit protocol? Chronic Apical Periodontitis is treatable in one visit, if done properly. Chronic Apical Periodontitis is treatable in one visit, if done properly, with proper shaping, disinfection, and proper hermetic obturation of the root canal. Bioceramic sealers showed the highest success rate out of all sealers used, the usage of 3-5.25% sodium hydrochloride and 17% ethylenediaminetetraacetic acid showed favorable results, although photodynamic therapy and ultrasonic activated irrigation showed outstanding results.

ABSTRACT

Intensity-based pointwise non-normalized algorithms for 2D evaluation of activity in optical metrology with dynamic speckle analysis are studied and compared. They are applied to a temporal sequence of correlated speckle patterns formed at laser illumination of the object surface. Performance of each algorithm is assessed through the histogram of estimates it produces. A new algorithm is proposed that provides the same quality of the 2D activity map for less computational effort. The algorithms are applied both to synthetic and experimental data.

ABSTRACT

The article presents hormonal analysis of hypothalamus-hypophysis-ovaries system of 14 patients with sterility as well as of other 15 patients without sterility suffering from benign tumors or tumorous formations. The control group included 6 healthy women. The concentration of hormones in blood serum (FSH-follicle stimulating hormone, LH-lutein hormone, Prolactinum, Testosteronum, Oestradiolum, Progesterone) has been tested in dynamics of a menstrual cycle. Correlation of results of hormonal and histological analysis of a capsule of formation and a biopsy of a tissue of an ovary of these patients has revealed that formation occurrence irrespective of its histological type leads to suppression of the follicular apparatus. These disturbances are more symptomatic for patients with both epithelial cystomas and sterility. It gives evidence that these disturbances can cause sterility. Hormonal disturbances of patients with benign tumors or tumorous formations depend on formation presence, rather than of its histological type. Spontaneous recovery of reproductive function is marked at 35 % of patients. Efficiency of surgery treatment and rehabilitation therapy within the first year after surgery made up 60 %.

ABSTRACT

A retrospective analysis of direct results of anterior resections of the rectum fulfilled for cancer is presented. The patients were divided into 3 groups according to the methods of forming colorectal anastomoses: manual nodular, compression-mechanical method using apparatus AKA-2, 4 and a compressive method with apparatuses on the basis of the effect of memory of the form in the titanium nikelide alloy. Advantages of using compressive apparatuses are shown as well as the reliability of compressive colorectal anastomoses.

ABSTRACT

Histostructural changes of small intestine mucosa of intact, pregnant and lactating rats were studied by optic and electron microscopy and morphometry. Increase of mucosa thickness, vili height, crypt depth, quantity of enterocytes and crypts were studied in dynamics of pregnancy. Period of lactation that followed labour was characterized by opposite processes, i.e. decrease of above mentioned parameters, which became identical to that in control animals.

ABSTRACT

10-12 days old suckling rabbits-pups were infected by cholera vibrions of 01329 serogroup (16063 and M045 strains). Ultrastructural changes in small intestinal epitheliocytes and microcirculatory vessels were studied. Both strains caused typical cholerogenic syndrome, dystrophic and necrotic changes in epitheliocytes, epitheliocytes and lymphocytes, increase of vessel permeability, rheological disorders. Focal cytoplasmic were formed, widening of intercellular spaces were observed, although the zone of dense contact was not disturbed. M045 strains caused destruction of dense contacts, resulting in loose arrangement of epitheliocytes and their division from the basement membrane.
