ABSTRACT

Based on spectral analysis of heart rhythm variability, studies covered changes in vegetative regulation in patients with occupational dorsopathies of cervical and lumbar regions. Findings are that 75% of patients with occupational dorsopathies have marked vegetative disorders - insufficient activity of sympathetic nervous system and drastic dominance of parasympathetic regulatory mechanisms due to pathologic vertebrogenous influences on peripheral vegetative structures. The most informative stress testing to reveal vegetative dysfunction in patients with occupational dorsopathies is flexion test. Individuals with occupational dorsopathies and dominant parasympathetic regulatory mechanisms have more severe prognosis due to more frequent severe degenerative and dystrophic spinal changes.

ABSTRACT

The article deals with results of cardiorespiratory status study in professional guttural singers. Findings are that long length of service in "hoomey" style professional guttural singers results in lower external respiration parameters and RBC saturation values. Ultrasound investigation demonstrates reliably more frequent left ventricle hypertrophy. The results obtained necessitate specification of programs for complex evaluation of occupational risks and for prevention of occupational and occupationally mediated diseases in guttural singers.

ABSTRACT

A series of investigations have demonstrated the anti-inflammatory, bactericidal, analgesic, and vegetocorrective effects of extraocular selective polarized chromotherapy using blue and red light and the possibility to optimize autonomous regulation with the help of this technique. The results of the study confirmed the high clinical effectiveness and safety of the method being considered for the treatment of acute respiratory diseases, chronic tonsillitis, cervical dorsopathies, and vegetative dysfunction.

ABSTRACT

The article deals with problems of optimizing sanatorium-and-spa programs to better health in workers exposed to vibration, through using panto-magnesium pearl baths. Examinations covered 49 individuals exposed to local vibration at work, who underwent health programs including magnetotherapy, manual massage and exercise therapy. The authors conclude that maximal effect of improved life quality was seen after panto-magnesium gas baths course auxiliary to the programs.

ABSTRACT

The article presents results of studies concerning cardio-respiratory system, psychoemotional state and life quality in professional guttural traditional singers. The professional singers with long length of service were proved to have lower external respiratory function parameters and saturation values, polycytemic syndrome and ECG studies demonstrate reliably more frequent left ventricular hypertrophy and metabolic disorders, more considerable psychoemotional changes and life quality alterations are seen, if compared to the amateur singers.

ABSTRACT

The authors demonstrate efficiency of nitrogenous silicon baths in "Belokurikha" resort with precasted factors for neurohormonal state of patients with I degree vibration disease, for their life quality and psychoemotional state, through lower dysbalance of stimulating and peripheral hormons, lower thyroxin/triiodothyronine and estradiol/ testosteron ratios, aldosteron level, positive influence on prooxidant and antioxidant activities of blood serum, on platelet and vascular hemostasis.

ABSTRACT

The authors demonstrated efficiency of aerosol therapy using "Dovolenskaya" mineral water in treating patients with occupational pulmonary diseases. Results are improved bronchial drainage, normal pro- and antioxidant status, lower inflammatory activity in patients with pneumoconiosis and occupational dust bronchitis.

ABSTRACT

The authors present results of rehabilitation for vibration disease and respiratory diseases patients in sanatoriums and resorts. Complex special program caused considerable effects on serum peroxidant activity, immunologic state, microcirculation state in patients with vibration disease of I-II severity grade. Due to treatment, patients withoccupational pulmonary diseases demonstrated better general feeling and improved external respiration parameters. The authors showed that existing treatment strategies should be included into rehabilitation programs for patients with vibration disease and chronic pulmonary diseases.

ABSTRACT

The results have been compared of the use of two schedules (continuous and cyclic) of multimodality therapy of chronic glomerulonephritis (CGN) including cytostatics, corticosteroids, anticoagulants and deaggregation agents. Continuous therapy was carried out for 12.9 +/- 0.41 months on the average, with the drug dosage being corrected depending on the clinico-laboratory and immunological findings as well as on the parameters of the hemostatic system. Cyclic therapy was conducted for 6 months according to a strictly unified program. It has been shown that continuous individualized treatment compares very favourably with the cyclic schedule, which is particularly marked in mesangiocapillary CGN and CGN with a tubulointerstitial component. It is concluded that continuous multimodality treatment chosen with regard to the clinico-pathogenetic disease characteristics allows CGN prognosis to be improved.

ABSTRACT

The results of a simultaneous study of a clinical and morphological course of chronic glomerulonephritis (CGN) in 30 patients after repeated morphological investigation of the renal tissue showed that a prevailing tendency in this disease was the progression of morphological changes which could be noted in a stable clinical picture and even in clinical improvement. The detection of tubulointerstitial changes in the first nephrobiopsy was an unfavorable prognostic factor. Of the greatest importance for indirect assessment of a morphological course of CGN were changes in creatinine clearance, effective renal plasma flow and arterial pressure. A morphological course of different variants of CGN and the effect of pathogenetic therapy on it were analyzed.
