ABSTRACT

Flexible bronchoscopy has revolutionized respiratory disease diagnosis. It offers direct visualization and detection of airway abnormalities, including lung cancer lesions. Accurate identification of airway lesions during flexible bronchoscopy plays an important role in the lung cancer diagnosis. The application of artificial intelligence (AI) aims to support physicians in recognizing anatomical landmarks and lung cancer lesions within bronchoscopic imagery. This work described the development of BM-BronchoLC, a rich bronchoscopy dataset encompassing 106 lung cancer and 102 non-lung cancer patients. The dataset incorporates detailed localization and categorical annotations for both anatomical landmarks and lesions, meticulously conducted by senior doctors at Bach Mai Hospital, Vietnam. To assess the dataset's quality, we evaluate two prevalent AI backbone models, namely UNet++ and ESFPNet, on the image segmentation and classification tasks with single-task and multi-task learning paradigms. We present BM-BronchoLC as a reference dataset in developing AI models to assist diagnostic accuracy for anatomical landmarks and lung cancer lesions in bronchoscopy data.

ABSTRACT

AIMS: Several epidemiological studies have indicated that elevated blood pressure (BP) is associated with the surfeit of body weight. Body fat accumulation is considered as be a significant factor contributing to the nexus between obesity and hypertension. Two of the most common indicators used to characterize the associations of BP are body mass index (BMI) and waist circumference (WC). This study was aimed to describe the differences in some characteristics among people aged 20 and above in three communes of a district in Vietnam and analyze the correlation between BMI and WC, and BP. MATERIALS AND METHODS: We conducted a survey with a cross-sectional design of 734 subjects in three communes in Chiem Hoa district of the Vietnam northern mountainous region. RESULTS: It was found that except for BMI, there were significant differences in some physical characteristics between genders (p < 0.05). Particularly, the effects on Systolic Blood Pressure (SBP) or Diastolic Blood Pressure (DBP) of WC were more significant than that of BMI in genders. The impacts of WC on SBP as well as DBP were also stronger than that of BMI in age groups with the cut-off point 60 than BMI. CONCLUSIONS: This study provides the science evidence in support of public and preventive health interventions to the locals residing in studied area. We recommend the existing correlations in subjects belonging to different ethnicities and continents.

ABSTRACT

Highly conjugated porphyrin derivatives, H(2) TP and ZnTP, are synthesized. J-aggregations of the H-aggregated dimeric porphyrin pairs are clearly observed by their single crystal structures that facilitate slip-stacked charge transport phenomenon. In particular, their SC-FETs show the highest field-effect mobilities of 0.85-2.90 cm(2) V(-1) s(-1) . Furthermore, the ZnTP-based OPT displays a dramatic photoinduced current enhancement with a high photoresponsivity of 22 000 A W(-1) under a very low light intensity (5.6 m W cm(-2) ).

ABSTRACT

Heteroleptic ruthenium complexes cis-[Ru(H2dcbpy)(L)(NCS)2], where H2dcbpy is 4,4'-dicarboxylic acid-2,2'-bipyridine and L is 4-(4-(N,N-di-(p-hexyloxyphenyl)-amino)styryl)-4'-methyl-2,2'-bipyridine (Rut-A) or 4-(4'-(3,6-dihexyloxycarbazole-9-yl)-styryl)-4'-methyl-2,2'-bipyridine (Rut-B), have been synthesized and characterized by NMR, UV-Vis spectroscopy, and cyclic voltammogram. The effect of different electron donors on the properties of dye-sensitized solar cells has been studied. The power conversion efficiency of DSSC based on Rut-B is 6.1% while Rut-A delivered a lower efficiency of 4.52% under the same device fabrication and measuring conditions. The better photovoltaic performance of Rut-B is mainly associated with enhanced dye absorptivity and charge recombination suppression.
