ABSTRACT

The activities of glutamic-pyruvic transaminase (GPT) and catalase are increased by 42 to 283% in patients with neurodermatitis, eczema, and psoriasis, whereas the activities of glutamic-oxaloacetic transaminase, alkaline phosphatase, and cholinesterase are unchanged. In women with neurodermatitis and psoriasis the level of GPT is by 24-28% lower than in men. In psoriasis catalase activity in women is by 50% higher than in men. Hence, the activities of some enzymes in disease are related to patients' sex. Blood serum catalase measurements are diagnostically valuable in skin diseases.

ABSTRACT

The effect of the basic parameters of the air sterilizers on the sterilization temperature and time conditions was studied on the basis of the mathematical simulation method. A method of engineering calculations was developed, providing the optimum values of thermal power and sterilizing agent consumption. That would help to achieve the maximum capacity of the equipment and high quality of sterilizing treatment. Conditions for using different methods and automated systems to handle the sterilization process were determined.

ABSTRACT

The mathematical model of the air sterilization process is proposed. The model describes nonstationary temperature fields for a sterilizing agent and objects under sterilization in devices of the chamber type. It is useful in studying the effects of control factors on the sterilization process, in calculating optimum charges for air sterilizers, and in developing automated systems to handle the operating process of the air sterilization.
