ABSTRACT
A brief explanation of small vessel anastomosis is presented with a case history. Depending upon the trauma to a vessel and its relative size, the surgeon can attempt to correct the vascular defect. A case history of a traumatic insult to the dorsalis pedis artery demonstrates a situation in which small vessel anastomosis can be performed to insure adequate blood perfusion to the distal aspect of the foot.
