ABSTRACT

We present one case of Kaposi's sarcoma with conjunctive metastasis. The case describes a 71-years-old white male, who was admitted at hospital by malaise, slight pain on the left eyelid, nodular lesion of the left leg, and enlarge lymph nodes in inguinal regions. The conjunctive neoplasms are rare, and we most frequently can see the pigment ones followed by squamous epithelials and lymphomas. The primary Kaposi's sarcoma (KS) from conjunctiva is a rare tumor and it has increased by AIDS emergence and immunosuppression. The appearance of conjunctival metastasis from KS is a stand out event.

ABSTRACT

A case of metastasis to soft parts of the wrist (acrometastasis) from an epidermoid carcinoma of the larynx was presented. The case of a 65-year-old male patient, who underwent total laryngectomy with radical dissection of the right neck and functional dissection of the other side was presented. The operation was performed 12 months ago due to a supraglotic and glotic lesion. 30 days after surgery, the patient was irradiated with cobalt therapy in both necks. At present, he presents increase of the volume of the soft parts of the anterior region of the left wrist, so a fine needle aspiration biopsy was performed. The biopsy yielded a positive report of metastasis from epidermoid carcinoma and of multiple metastases in both lung fields(AU)

ABSTRACT

OBJECTIVES: Papillary renal cell carcinoma is a malignant neoplasia which represents 5-10% of all renal cell carcinomas. We perform a bibliographic review, and detail the clinical, diagnostic and therapeutic aspects of the case, as well as its postoperative outcome. METHODS: 55-year-old patient who was admitted in the urology department from the emergency room. On physical examination we detected a mass in the left flank and left upper abdominal quadrant, painful on flank percussion, and gross hematuria also. It was a patient who debuted with left lumbar-abdominal pain and hematuria with clots after a physical effort. Blood tests, ultrasound, x-rays and surgical treatment were performed. RESULTS AND CONCLUSIONS: On evaluation of the ultrasound and x-ray films it was concluded that it was a significant renal tumor. Left radical nephrectomy was performed and pathology reported papillary renal cell carcinoma. Postoperative outcome was satisfactory after three months.
