ABSTRACT
De un total de 554 infartos del miocardio atendidos en el Hospital Provincial Ernesto Guevara de la Serna de la provincia de Las Tunas en un período de 24 meses que incluye desde Julio de 1999 a Julio del 2001, se le aplicó tratamiento trombolítico a 237 casos, de los cuales dos desarrollaron rotura cardiaca, la mayor incidencia apareció en pacientes con edades superiores a los 60 años, los antecedentes mas frecuentes asociados fueron la hipertensión arterial, el tabaquismo y la angina previa. La rotura cardiaca apareció en aquellos casos que se uso tardíamente la terapéutica trombolítica. La localización más frecuente fue en los infartos de cara anterior(AU)
