ABSTRACT

Important role in treatment and prophylaxis for vibration disease due to local vibration is played by physical factors. If high frequency components prevalent in occupational vibration, treatment with electric therapy, laser, magnetic fields, lymphatic drainage, hydrotherapy provides influence on leading chains of systemic microangiopathies pathogenesis - dysbalance of regulation influences by vegetative nervous system, vasoconstriction and intravascular changes, vascular permeability and microcirculation disorders. If low frequency coomponents prevalent in occupational vibration, treatment of polyneuropathies and locomotory disorders incorporates trophic processes activation: transcranial electroanalgesia, surface application of mineral waters, manual and subwater massage, ozone therapy, local spark discharges, peloids. Complex use of physical methods also increases human adaptational resources.

ABSTRACT

Complex treatment using naphthalane applications with nonselective chromotherapy covered 64 engine operators of locomotive crews, aged 40-69 years, having 1-3 stage knee osteoarthrosis. Findings are that optimized treatment schedules effectively reduce intensity of pain, improve functional state of the joints involved, increase life quality of the patients, have no side effects. Comparative analysis of the treatment results showed that efficiency of combined naphthalane and nonselective chromotherapy exceeds isolated naphthalane effects.

ABSTRACT

Prophylactic study among workers engaged into main production of Siberian chemical enterprise (Seversk city) revealed high frequency of cardiovascular risk factors (overweight, hypodynamia, dyslipidemia, arterial hypertension), low level of adaptational potential and integral somatic health parameter as prenosologic criteria of cardiovascular diseases. The results necessitate recommendations to supplement periodic medical examinations with studies aimed to reveal early criteria of health disorders, and determine priority directions to specify prophylactic measures in nuclear industry workers.

ABSTRACT

The study was conducted on aircraft-building enterprise during production microcycle (before working shift start, during last working hour and in an hour after the shift end)--spectral analysis covered variability of heart rhythm in 70 male assembler riveters aged 25-59, divided into 2 groups in accordance with industrial equipment used. The group 1 used standard vibroinstrument, the group 2--pneumoinstruments with low vibration velocity parameters. Triple study during the working shift revealed in group 2 an adequate reaction of vegetative nervous system to vibration, in group 1 a negative trend was seen with centralization of regulatory processes and absence of adequate recovery in an hour after work.

ABSTRACT

The purpose of development of this clinical practice guidelines was to provide evidence-based protocols that help the practitioner and the patient make the right decision for the health assessment, treatment and prevention of pneumoconiosis. Pneumoconiosis is the interstitial lung disease of occupational origin caused by prolonged inhalation of inorganic dust, characterized by chronic diffuse aseptic inflammation in lung tissue with the development of pulmonary fibrosis. Currently, thereare no treatment that provide a cure pulmonary fibrosis and changes in the dynamics of decline in lung function. Regular, individually tailored treatment should be directed to the pathogenic mechanisms and some clinical symptoms of pneumoconiosis, as well as the prevention of complications. To enhance the effect of pharmacotherapy is recommended to use non-drug therapies that enhance the functionality of the respiratory system.

ABSTRACT

The authors studies features of structure and functional state of knee joints in occupational diseases. Findings are peripheral circulatory disorders, changes in all hemostasis levels, with trend to increased platelets aggregation, hyperfibrinogenemia, hypercoagulation and fibrinolysis system disorders. Considering the diagnosis, the authors specified treatment algorithms for occupational osteoarthrosis.

ABSTRACT

Among 70 vibration disease patients (58 males and 12 females, average age 48 +/- 8.4 yr; 1 grade--85.7% and 2 grade--14.3%), prevalence of abdominal obesity equalled 34.3%. Arterial hypertension (with preferentially 3 grade, risk 3-4--42.5%) was diagnosed in 94.3% of the examinees, of which 27.3% concurrent with IHD. Dyslipidemia were seen in 58.6%. Various combinations of metabolic syndrome were seen in 24.3% of the examinees.

ABSTRACT

Morbidity structure among workers engaged into main production of nuclear industry had prevailing lung cancer (1.93 per 1,000), gastric carcinoma (1.09) and colon cancer (0.72). The lung cancer patients demonstrated the highest concentrations of uranium in lung tissue (0.8313 g/g) and liver tissue (0.3548 g/g); those with gastric carcinoma and of reference group--in lung radix nodes (0.1855 and 0.3685 g/g respectively).

ABSTRACT

The authors studied frequency, periods of development and morbidity structure of malignances among chronic uranium intoxication patients. tumors were diagnosed in 19.1% of the cases. Neoplasms developed in the presence of uranium intoxication symptoms in 57.8% of the patients, occurred after the occupational disease was ruled out in 42.2% of the cases. The oncologic morbidity structure was presented mostly by tumors of gastro-intestinal tract (33.3%) and respiratory system (20%).

ABSTRACT

The morphological criteria have been identified permitting the prognosis of the course character of chronic lymphoid leukemia (CLL). Slow progressing of CLL is attended by the accumulation in the peripheral blood of lymphocytes in the transient stage G0----G1 with ring-like nucleoli surrounded by the perinuclear area. In rapid progressing of the disease, lymphoid cells in stages G1 and S with homogenous nucleoli containing the nucleolar lipid component, are observed in the blood of CLL patients.

ABSTRACT

The socioeconomic impact of procedures used in the treatment for Hodgkin's disease was studied on the basis of follow-up data. The first-year costs appeared maximal, viz. approximately 3904.78 rubles per patient. The cost effectiveness of the first-, first two- and first three-year treatment was 8.2, 4.8 and 3.5 higher than the overall costs, respectively. Comparison of costs of treatment and maintenance of the whole of patients with the expected cost effectiveness assuring that at least one-third of rehabilitated patients resume working showed the latter parameter to exceed the overall costs by 1.4 times.
