ABSTRACT

Aims: This study aimed to evaluate the global research trend in the prevention and treatment of cardiotoxicity caused by anthracyclines from 2000 to 2023, and to explore international cooperation, research hotspots, and frontier trends. Methods: The articles on the prevention and treatment of anthracycline-induced cardiotoxicity published from 2000 to 2023 were searched by Web of Science. The bibliometrics software CiteSpace was used for visual analysis of countries, institutions, journals, authors, cited authors, cited references, and keywords. Results: This study analyzed the current status of global research on the prevention and treatment of cardiotoxicity caused by anthracyclines. A total of 3,669 papers were searched and 851 studies were included. The number of publications increased gradually throughout the years. Cardiovascular Toxicology (15) is the journal with the most publications. Circulation (547) ranked first among cited journals. In this field, the country with the most publications is the United States (229), and the institution with the most publications is Charles Univ Prague (18). In the analysis of the authors, Tomas S (10) ranked first. Cardinale D (262) ranked first among cited authors. In the ranking of cited literature frequency, the article ranked first is "Early detection of anthracycline cardiotoxicity and improvement with heart failure therapy" (121). The keywords "heart failure" (215) and "oxidative stress" (212) were the most frequent. "Enalapril", "inflammation", "cell death", "NF-κB" and "Nrf2" were the advanced research contents in 2019-2023. Conclusions: This study provided valuable information for cardio-oncology researchers to identify potential collaborators and institutions, discover hot topics, and explore new research directions. The prevention and treatment of anthracycline-induced cardiotoxicity focuses on early detection and timely treatment. The results of the current clinical studies on the treatment of anthracycline-induced cardiotoxicity are contradictory, and more studies are needed to provide more reliable clinical evidence in the future.

ABSTRACT

We present a highly deuterium atom economical approach for the synthesis of deuterated alcohols via the single electron transfer (SET) reductive deuteration of acyl chlorides. Cost-effective sodium dispersion and EtOD-d1 were used as the single electron donor and deuterium donor, respectively. Our approach achieved up to 49% deuterium atom economy, which represents the highest deuterium atom economy yet achieved in SET reductive deuteration reactions. With all 20 tested substrates, excellent regioselectivity and >92% deuterium incorporations were obtained. Furthermore, we demonstrated the potential of this methodology by synthesizing four deuterated analogues of pesticides.

ABSTRACT

Despite continued advances in prevention and treatment strategies, cardiovascular diseases (CVDs) remain the leading cause of death worldwide, and more effective therapeutic methods are urgently needed. Polygonatum is a traditional Chinese herbal medicine with a variety of pharmacological applications and biological activities, such as antioxidant activity, anti-inflammation, antibacterial effect, immune-enhancing effect, glucose regulation, lipid-lowering and anti-atherosclerotic effects, treatment of diabetes and anticancer effect. There has also been more and more evidence to support the cardioprotective effect of Polygonatum in recent years. However, up to now, there has been a lack of comprehensive studies on the active ingredients and their pharmacotoxicological effects related to cardiovascular diseases. Therefore, the main active components of Polygonatum (including Polysaccharides, Flavonoids, Saponins) and their biological activities were firstly reviewed in this paper. Furthermore, we summarized the pharmacological effects of Polygonatum's active components in preventing and treating CVDs, and its relevant toxicological investigations. Finally, we emphasize the potential of Polygonatum in the prevention and treatment of CVDs.

ABSTRACT

Deuterium labelling of organic compounds is an important process in chemistry. We report the first example of photocatalytic dehalogenative deuteration of both arylhalides and alkylhalides (40 substrates) over a metal-organic framework, MFM-300(Cr), using CD3 CN as the deuterium source at room temperature. MFM-300(Cr) catalyses high deuterium incorporation and shows excellent tolerance to various functional groups. Synchrotron X-ray powder diffraction reveals the activation of halogenated substrates via confined binding within MFM-300(Cr). In situ electron paramagnetic resonance spectroscopy confirms the formation of carbon-based radicals as intermediates and reveals the reaction pathway. This protocol removes the use of precious-metal catalysts from state-of-the-art processes based upon direct hydrogen isotope exchange and shows high photocatalytic stability, thus enabling multiple catalytic cycles.

The synthesis of α,α-dideuterio alcohols has been achieved via single electron transfer reductive deuteration of acyl chlorides using SmI2 and D2O. This method is distinguished by its remarkable functional group tolerance and exquisite deuterium incorporation, which has also been applied to the synthesis of valuable deuterated agrochemicals and their building blocks.

ABSTRACT

An efficient one-pot sequential hydrogen isotope exchange (HIE)/reductive deuteration approach was developed for the preparation of α,ß-deuterated alcohols using ketones as the precursors. The HIE step can also be used for the synthesis of α-deuterated ketones. This method has been applied in the synthesis of four deuterated drug and MS internal standards.

ABSTRACT

A highly chemoselective reductive deuteration of acyl fluorides to provide α,α-dideuterio alcohols with exquisite levels of deuterium incorporation was developed using SmI2 and D2O as the deuterium source. This method introduces acyl fluorides as attractive radical precursors for the generation of reactive acyl-type fluoride ketyls that should find widespread application in many synthetic strategies involving single electron transfer processes.

ABSTRACT

Using first-principles calculations, we find Li-intercalated bilayer arsenene with AB stacking is dynamically stable, which is different from pristine bilayer with AA stacking. Electron-phonon coupling of the stable Li-intercalated bilayer arsenene are dominated by the low frequency vibrational modes (E″(1), [Formula: see text](1), E'(1) and acoustic modes) and lead to an superconductivity with T c = 8.68 K with isotropical Eliashberg function. Small biaxial tensile strain (2%) can improve T c to 11.22 K due to the increase of DOS and phonon softening. By considering the fully anisotropic Migdal-Eliashberg theory, T c are found to be enhanced by 50% and exhibits a single anisotropic gap nature. In addition, considering its nearly flat top valence band which is favorable for high temperature superconductivity, we also explore the superconducting properties of hole-doped monolayer arsenene under different strains. the unstrained monolayer arsenene superconducts at T c = 0.22 K with 0.1 hole/cell doping. By applying 3% biaxial strain, T c can be lifted up strikingly to 6.69 K due to a strong Fermi nesting of the nearly flat band. Then T c decreases slowly with strain. Our findings provide another insight to realize 2D superconductivity and suggest that the strain is crucial to further enhance the transition temperature.
