ABSTRACT
Este artigo tem como tema a relação da família, no tratamento dos portadores de transtorno mental, com o serviço de saúde mental, a partir de uma perspectiva institucionalista. O objetivo é analisar o campo de forças que se estabelece nessa tríade que dificulta uma efetiva adesão dos familiares ao tratamento dos usuários atendidos no Centro de Atenção Psicossocial (CAPS). A pesquisa de campo foi realizada no CAPS de Ribeirão das Neves, por meio tanto de entrevistas semi-estruturadas com quatro famílias dos portadores de transtorno mental, usuárias desse serviço, quanto da nossa prática profissional. Analisamos que são diversos os fatores que vão influenciar nas dificuldades que se apresentam na relação entre o portador de transtorno mental, sua família e o serviço de saúde mencionado. A família ainda não se vê como parte importante da assistência ao portador de transtorno mental, e o serviço de saúde, por sua vez, tem dificuldade em levá-la a se ver como tal. Concluímos ser necessária uma reflexão por parte do serviço de saúde sobre o seu papel neste processo, e também sobre o que tem sido oferecido à família para que seja propiciada sua participação ativa na assistência do portador de transtorno mental.
The theme of this article is the family relation with the mental health care services within the mental health patient's treatment from an institutionalist perspective. It aims to analyze the strength field established by this triad which makes it difficult for the family members to actually adhere to the treatment of users of the Psychological Attention Center (CAPS). The field research has been performed at the CAPS in Ribeirão das Neves, by the means of semi-structured interviews with four mentally troubled patient's families, all of which are users of this service, along with our professional practice. We have found that there are many factors of influence regarding the difficulties presented in the relations amongst the family, the service and the mentally troubled patient. The family members still do not see themselves as an important part of the assistance to the mentally troubled patient and the service has also a hard time attributing this place to the family. We came to the conclusion that the service has to reflect on its role in this process. On the other hand, the service also has to reflect on what has been offered to the family members to make them participate actively in the mentally troubled patient's assistance.
