ABSTRACT
The article deals with a new method for determining the degree of intoxication in patients with peritonitis of various etiology. Bull sperm cells were used as the test-object. The degree of intoxication is judged according to the ratio of the mean life time of the spermatozoa in the studied filtrate, obtained from the blood serum of patients with peritonitis by filtration through polysulfone membranes with a pass band of up to 70,000 daltons, to the life time in a control glucose-nitrate solution. The authors called this ratio as the spermatic index of toxicity. It was 80.1 +/- 18.7% in the donors. The spermatic index of toxicity was 35.0 +/- 9.0% in the first day after the operation, 44.6 +/- 16.7% on the fifth day, and 70.8 +/- 27.7% before discharge from the hospital. The method is automatic, which excludes subjective a appraisal of the results, and may be suggested for use in clinical practice.

The authors analyzed morbidity and invalidity in miners engaged in liquidation of Chernobyl disaster sequels depending on the duration of stay in increased radiation background, radiation dose, length of work in the mines. Among the nosological entities prevailed vegeto-vascular dystonia, thyroid and gastrointestinal pathology.

A variant of a complex approach to solving the problem of ensuring the optimal perfusion, based on the separation of the ECA-organism system parameters into 4 subsystems, is proposed. An automatic control of the entire set of the extracorporeal circulation parameters is accomplished in the hierarchial order, with due consideration for the necessity to provide a fast response and physiological significance for the organism of the characteristics and factors subject to correction. The criteria for the adequacy of the extracorporeal circulation should be brought into a dynamic relation to the actual state of the organism. The composition of the blocks making up the system of the extracorporeal circulation regulation is discussed.

A systematization of methods for assisted circulation, based on the formulation of a concrete procedure, the nature of the deranged or lost function substitution and conditions for effective realization of such a substitution, is offered. This made it possible to classify the equipment for assisted circulation and to analyze the current trends of its further development. The most characteristic automation levels of the equipment under consideration and of generations of some apparatus, differing in the degree of automation, control and monitoring the process of assisted circulation, are presented in the form of tables and pictures.
