ABSTRACT

Objectives: This study examined the effects of stress distribution at three abutment-implant interfaces on various implant systems. Materials and Methods: Group I: tri-channel internal connection (Nobel Biocare), Group II: 1.5-mm deep internal hex (BioHorizons Co. Birmingham, USA), and Group III: ADIN Touareg, to create computerized models of implants and mandibular modeling software, close fit WP, ANSYS Version 14.0 for finite element analysis (FEA), Hypermesh 12 for meshing and CATIA were used. A top-notch scanner was used to scan the implant. CATIA software created computerized models using all the aforementioned data. By applying bonded state on the abutment-implant borders and four various load conditions within the implant system, finite element method modeling was carried out. The computerized model was imported into the ANSYS program. To compare the groups, a statistical analysis was conducted. Result: Through the use of three-dimensional FEA, the samples were assessed. Stress was found to be utmost in Group I, followed by Group III and Group II, at 80 N, 80 N with a 15° tilt, 250 N, and 250 N with a 15° tilt, and the divergence was statistically inconsequential. Conclusion: The tri-channel internal connection displayed the highest stresses compared to the internal hex within the constraints of the current study.

ABSTRACT

Four new dental replacement base tars were evaluated in vitro to determine their mechanical qualities, authentic properties, and biocompatibility. Materials and Methods: In this experiment, we employed SR Triplet HOT (a fiber-developed heat fix tar), Sunflex (a multipurpose force fix sap), Trevalon-Hello (a high-impact heat fix tar), DPI (a digital pigment imaging system), and a variety of other pigments and inks (normal power fix tar). For these models, the ISO specification 1567 for dental substitute base gums called for testing of flexural strength, hardness, impact strength, water sorption and dissolvability, and cytotoxicity. Results: All the strength and mechanical properties tested had a statistically significant difference when intergroup analysis was performed. Conclusion: The exceptional physical and mechanical capabilities of the Sunflex denture base resin, together with its biocompatibility with oral tissues, make it a good candidate for use as a denture base material in routine clinical practice.

ABSTRACT

Introduction: It is important to construct the sprue in a way that ensures that the mold gets an appropriate supply of metal at the right speed. Many manufacturers now offer sprue designs that have not been advocated in textbooks or publications for their normal use. Aim: The goal of this research was to compare the sprue design's marginal fit to that of the other designs. Methods: During this investigation, we attempted to see whether the fabrication of metal copings could be improved. Three sprue designs were used in this research for the assessment of casting accuracy: normal cylindrical, funnel-shaped, and cuboidal or flattened sprue forms. Results: The mean marginal disparity of nickel-chromium (Ni-Cr) alloy copings made by three distinct brands was determined to be statistically insignificant. Conclusion: Within the limitation of the study, it was concluded that the marginal accuracy of metal copings fabricated with three different brands of Ni-Cr alloy did not reveal a statistically significant result. However, out of the three different sprue designs, that is, cylindrical, cuboidal, and funnel shape, the marginal accuracy of cylindrical and cuboidal sprue designs was found to be better than that of the funnel shape sprue design because the funnel shape sprue design is narrow at the point of attachment, thereby increasing the flow pressure and decreasing the turbulence of the molten metal.

ABSTRACT

In this study, an efficient ionic liquid (IL)-based microwave-assisted extraction (IL-MAE) was employed for the extraction of Heneicos-1-ene from coriander foliage. Quantification of Heneicos-1-ene was carried out using high-performance liquid chromatography. Parameters affecting extraction such as material to solvent ratio (1:10, 1:15, and 1:20), types of IL ([CH3(CH2)3]4NF, [BMIM][PF6], [BMIM][BF4], and [C6H5]4P[Br]), concentration of IL (0.1, 0.5, and 1.0 M), microwave power (200, 500, and 800 W), extraction temperature (50, 70, and 90 °C) and extraction time (2, 6, and 10 min) were evaluated. Response surface methodology was applied to determine the optimum levels of these parameters to get maximum yield. The optimal conditions were achieved at 800 W, 90 °C for 2 min at a material to solvent ratio of 1:10 using 0.1 M solution of [BMIM][BF4], to get maximum predicted yield of Heneicos-1-ene (412.8 mg/100 g) as against 408.5 ± 1.14 mg/100 g for experimental value with 0.991 correlation coefficient. IL-MAE resulted in 5.85 times higher yield as compared to the conventional method (69.77 ± 1.8 mg/100 g).

ABSTRACT

Coriander foliage is a distinctive spice employed on a daily basis in curry and other Indian traditional food preparations mainly for the unique flavour attributes and health benefits. Radical scavenging activity has been demonstrated previously for coriander foliage. However, specific molecules responsible were not identified. A new molecule was isolated via chromatographic technique, and its structure was established by employing multinuclei and multidimensional NMR and HRMS techniques. The identified molecule Heneicos-1-ene was also screened for radical scavenging activity and antimicrobial activity, wherein it displayed radical scavenging activity of 89.6 ± 0.62% at 200 ppm, and also exhibited substantial antimicrobial activity against E. coli and Salmonella typhi.

ABSTRACT

The primary objective was to characterize Indian Coriandrum sativum L. foliage (Vulgare alef and Microcarpum DC varieties) and its radical scavenging activity. Foliage of Vulgare alef and Microcarpum DC contained ascorbic acid (1.16 ± 0.35 and 1.22 ± 0.54 mg/g), total carotenoids (1.49 ± 0.38 and 3.08 ± 1.2 mg/g), chlorophyll 'a' (8.23 ± 2.4 and 12.18 ± 2.9 mg/g), chlorophyll 'b' (2.74 ± 0.8 and 4.39 ± 1.3 mg/g) and total chlorophyll (10.97 ± 2.6 and 16.57 ± 3.2 mg/g). The polyphenol content was 26.75 ± 1.85 and 30.00 ± 2.64 mg/g in Vulgare alef and Microcarpum DC, respectively. Ethanol extracts (200 ppm) of alef and Microcarpum DC showed higher radical scavenging activity of 42.05 ± 2.42 % and 62.79 ± 1.36 % when compared with 95 % butylated hydroxyanisole. The principal component analysis results indicated that e-nose can distinguish the volatiles effectively. Quantitative descriptive sensory analysis showed that Microcarpum DC variety is superior to Vulgare alef variety. Nearly 90 % of the flavour compounds present were identified by GC-MS in both varieties. The principal component identified in both the varieties were decanal (7.645 and 7.74 %), decanol < n- > (25.12 and 39.35 %), undecanal (1.20 and 1.75 %), dodecanal (7.07 and 2.61 %), tridecen-1-al < 2E > (6.67 and 1.21 %), dodecen-1-ol < 2E- > (16.68 and 8.05 %), 13-tetradecenal (9.53 and 8.60 %), tetradecanal (5.61 and 4.35 %) and 1-octadecanol (1.25 and 3.67 %).
