ABSTRACT

In this paper, Ti3C2 QDs and Fe-ZIF-8 were synthesized by a straightforward hydrothermal method. Fe-ZIF-8 was pyrolyzed at high temperatures to obtain Fe-nanoclusters (Fe-NC). Then Fe-NC is mixed with Ti3C2 QDs to form a new composite material (Ti3C2 QDs/Fe-NC), and its microstructure and composition were analyzed by technology. The proposed material can detect acetaminophen (PA) and P-aminophenol (4-AP) simultaneously with excellent detection performance. With the best conditions, the linear ranges and detection limits were 0.50-210.00 µM, 0.03 µM (S/N = 3) and 0.50-150.00 µM, 0.06 µM (S/N = 3) for PA and 4-AP, respectively. The sensor has lower detection limits and wider linear ranges, and can successfully detect 4-AP and PA in river water and acetaminophen tablets at the same time, showing potential practical application prospects. Especially, this study reports the modification of MOF derivatives with Ti3C2 QDs for the first time, which expands the application scope of Quantum Dots and MOF derivatives.

ABSTRACT

In this work, a hybrid of multiwalled carbon nanotubes, nanogold, and reduced graphene (rGO/AuNPs/MWCNTs) was synthesized rapidly with an easy method, and then combined with chitosan (CS), which was fixed on a glassy carbon electrode (GCE) to construct a new kind of electrochemical sensor to simultaneously determine 4-aminophenol (4-AP) and acetaminophen (AC). When detecting 4-AP and AC simultaneously, the linear range is 0.12~12 µM for acetaminophen and 0.05~25 µM for 4-aminophenol; the detection limit is 42 nM for acetaminophen and 2.95 nM for 4-aminophenol. Compared with previously related reports, the proposed sensor has an excellent electrocatalytic performance for the redox of 4-AP and AC, which can effectively determine 4-AP and AC simultaneously in actual samples and has potential application prospect. ABSTRACT

In this paper, Ag-Pd bimetallic nanoparticles uniformly distributed on reduced graphene oxide (rGO) were synthesized by redox reaction between Pd2+, Ag+and GO, and were characterized by X-ray diffractometry, field emission scanning electron microscopy, electrochemical impedance spectroscopy and thermal gravimetric analyses. A novel electrochemical sensor was constructed based on these nanocomposites using glassy carbon as a substrate. Under optimal conditions, the linear ranges were 0.50-300.00 µM for PA and 1.00-300.00 µM for 4-AP, with the detection limits of 0.23 µM for PA and 0.013 µM for 4-AP, respectively. This sensor was successfully applied to the determination of PA in pharmaceutical formulations and gave satisfactory results with a lower detection limit, wider linear range and good reproducibility.

ABSTRACT

Gold nanoparticles-supported Cabot Vulcan XC72R (Au/VXC72R) nanocomposite was synthesized by chemical reduction of gold (III) chloride with VXC72R. A novel electrochemical sensor based on the Au/VXC72R nanocomposite has been fabricated for the sensitive detection of rifampicin (RIF). Field-emission scanning electron microscopy (FESEM), transmission electron microscopy (TEM), X-ray powder diffractometer (XRD) and X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS) were used to characterize the morphology, structure and compositions of the nanocomposite. Under the optimal conditions, the Au/VXC72R-chitosan/GCE can be used to determine RIF concentration in a linear range from 5 × 10-7 mol/L to 1 × 10-5 mol/L with the detection limit of 1.1 × 107 M (S/N = 3). The proposed approach exhibits good stability, acceptable reproducibility and applicability, which will probably bring widespread applications in quality monitoring in real samples.

ABSTRACT

Herein, a newly developed electrochemical sensor base on the nanohybrid of palladium-reduced graphene oxide modified with gold nanoparticles (Au/Pd/rGO) was established, which was prepared by electrodeposing Au nanoparticles on Pd/rGO modified on a glass carbon electrode. The morphologies and microstructures of the as-prepared nanohybrid were characterized by X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy, Scanning electron microscopy and Infrared spectroscopy. And, experiment results showed that the prepared Au/Pd/rGO nanohybrid exhibited excellent electrocatalytic- activity toward the redox of acetaminophen (PA) and 4-aminophenol (4-AP) simultaneously. The linear detection ranges were 1.00-250.00µM for PA and 1.00-300.00µM for 4-AP, with the detection limits of 0.30µM for PA and 0.12µM for 4-AP, respectively. Because of the excellent performance of lower detection, wider linear range and better selectivity, the prepared Au/Pd/rGO nanohybrid with more potential applications was a promising candidate for advanced electrode material in electrochemical sensing field.

ABSTRACT

To assess the health statue of chronically exposed Chinese medical radiation workers. A cross-sectional study of 530 medical radiation workers in a city of China was conducted to document the health status and the monitored annually absorbed doses. Long-term and low-dose radiation exposure can affect a number of health indicators in the individuals, which covered the cardiovascular system, hematologic system, ophthalmology, liver and kidney's functions, chromosome aberration and micronucleus. The differences in the health status between male and female individuals were associated with job types and exposed years of service. The monitored doses of individuals were lower than the limit value of the national standard. The health status in chronically exposed individuals demonstrated some gender difference associated with length of exposure and work type. This study provides some evidence to understand the health status of medical radiation workers in China and have the potentially to inform screening and clinical diagnosis.

ABSTRACT

Fe3O4 magnetic nanoparticles were synthesized by chemical co-precipitation with sodium citrate as surfactant and were characterized by FT-IR spectrometer, X-ray diffraction and transmission electron microscopy. A novel nitrite sensor was fabricated by electropolymerization of alizarin red on the surface of glassy carbon electrode modified with Fe3O4-multiwalled carbon nanotubes composite nanofilm. Under the optimal experimental conditions, it was showed that the proposed sensor exhibited good electrocatalytic activity to the oxidation of nitrite, and the peak current increased linearly with the nitrite concentration from 9.64 x 10(-6) mol x L(-1) to 1.30 x 10(-3) mol x L(-1) (R = 0.9976) with a detection limit of 1.19 x 10(-6) mol x L(-1) (S/N = 3). This sensor showed excellent sensitivity, wide linear range, stability and repeatability for nitrite determination with potential applications.

ABSTRACT

ZnS:Ni quantum dots (QDs) have been synthesized via a water-soluble route, which were coated by ZnS shell through surface modification to give ZnS:Ni/ZnS QDs. The QDs were characterized by atomic force microscope, X-ray diffraction, infrared spectrometry and fluorescent spectrometry. Then, a novel method for the determination of cefoperazone-sulbactam (CPZ-SBT) in aqueous solutions has been developed based on the enhancement of fluorescence of ZnS:Ni/ZnS QDs in the presence of CPZ-SBT. Under the optimal conditions, the enhanced fluorescence intensity (ΔF) was proportional to CPZ-SBT concentration in the range of 8.0×10(-6)-1.0×10(-4) g/L with a detection limit of 1.0×10(-7) g/L. The method was employed for the determination of CPZ-SBT in sample to give satisfactory result. Compared with others, this method was more sensitive, fast and simple with low limit detection.

ABSTRACT

A novel actinobacterial strain, 3-wff-81(T), was isolated from interfacial sediment of the eutrophic Taihu Lake in Jiangsu Province (China) and subjected to polyphasic taxonomic characterization. The strain formed pale orange-pigmented colonies comprising rod-shaped cells on R2A agar. Phylogenetic analysis based on the 16S rRNA gene sequences showed that strain 3-wff-81(T) belonged to the genus Geodermatophilus, with Geodermatophilus soli PB34(T) (99.1 % similarity) and Geodermatophilus terrae PB261(T) (98.3 % similarity) as closest relatives. The major fatty acids were 16 : 0 iso, 15 : 0 iso, 17 : 1ω8c and 14 : 0 iso. The predominant menaquinones were MK-9(H4) and MK-9. Polar lipids were diphosphatidylglycerol, phosphatidylethanolamine, phosphatidylinositol and phosphatidylinositol mannosides. The genomic DNA G+C content was 73.2 mol%. DNA-DNA relatedness values with G. soli PB34(T) and G. terrae PB261(T) were 42.8 % and 39.6 %, respectively. Based on the physiological, biochemical and chemotaxonomic data, it is proposed that strain 3-wff-81(T) represents a novel species named Geodermatophilus taihuensis sp. nov. with 3-wff-81(T) ( = CGMCC 1.12303(T) = NBRC 109416(T)) as the type strain.

ABSTRACT

A polyphasic study was carried out to clarify the taxonomic position of a novel strain R-30(T) isolated from the surficial layer of sediment from Taihu Lake of China. The strain formed pink colored colonies comprising coccodial cells on R2A agar. Phylogenetic analysis based on the 16S rRNA gene sequences showed that strain R-30(T) clustered with the strains of genus Roseococcus and strain Rubritepida flocculans, with Roseococcus suduntuyensis SHET(T) as the closest relative, sharing 95.6% similarity. The major fatty acids (>5%) were 18:1ω7c (66.7%), 16: 1ω7c/16:1ω6c (10.2%) and 16:0 (8.0%). The major polar lipids were diphosphatidyl glycerol (DPG), phosphatidyl methylethanolamine (PME), phosphatidyl ethanolamine (PE) and phosphatidyl choline (PC). The genomic DNA G+C content was 73.9 mol%. On the basis of the phylogenetic analysis and physiological and biochemical characteristics, we conclude that strain R-30(T) represents a novel genus and species of the family Acetobacteraceae, for which we propose the name Sediminicoccus rosea gen nov. sp. nov. with R-30(T) (= CGMCC 1.12302(T) = NBRC 109675(T)) as the type species and type strain.

ABSTRACT

Carbon nanotubes paste (CNTP) electrode was prepared with multi-walled carbon nanotubes and methyl silicone oil. Polyoxometalates (POMs) were assembled on the electrode surface with different methods, and investigated by cyclic voltammetry and Raman spectroscopy. Experiments showed that POMs/CNTP electrode prepared by direct method had better performance. K6P2Mo18O62 x 14 H2O (P2Mo18) assembled CNTP electrode (P2Mo18/CNTP) electrode possessed good reversibility and could catalyze the reduction of bromate and iodate in 0.1 M H2SO4 solution. Further, the multilayer films of P2Mo18 assembled CNTP electrodes were fabricated by layer-by-layer technique, which showed higher electrocatalytic activities. All these POMs assembled CNTP electrodes prepared exhibited good stability.
