ABSTRACT

The Barkan goniotomy is more effective as the anterior chamber is longer maintained during the operation. The authors succeeded in good angular debridation, maintaining the chamber using a metilcelulosis solution from a 2 cc syringe and abandoning any other tubulature for infusion liquids. There were good results at 5 years, with lowering and the reducing of the corneal diameters, by a unique goniotomy.

ABSTRACT

The authors emphasize the main features of the "adjustable suture" in concomitant strabismus surgery. Good results (over 92% of orthotropia) were noted especially in very young children (under 3 years of age)--cases in which an exact study on the status of motricity and vision is not possible.

ABSTRACT

The authors try to mark the anterior crystalloid before sectioning it, using the chemical touch (solution three coloured acetic or sodium hydroxide) or by means of physical methods (electrocoagulation or diathermy for minimum electric power). In vivo the two last methods have given stable whitish points by the middle of which had been executed the sectioning of the crystalloid. The authors emphasize the advantages that are known by the technique of the extracapsular extraction of the crystalline in the bag and the simplifying of the manoeuvre for marking the anterior crystalloid.
