ABSTRACT

Recommender systems are chiefly renowned for their applicability in e-commerce sites and social media. For system optimization, this work introduces a method of behaviour pattern mining to analyze the person's mental stability. With the utilization of the sequential pattern mining algorithm, efficient extraction of frequent patterns from the database is achieved. A candidate sub-sequence generation-and-test method is adopted in conventional sequential mining algorithms like the Generalized Sequential Pattern Algorithm (GSP). However, since this approach will yield a huge candidate set, it is not ideal when a large amount of data is involved from the social media analysis. Since the data is composed of numerous features, all of which may not have any relation with one another, the utilization of feature selection helps remove unrelated features from the data with minimal information loss. In this work, Frequent Pattern (FP) mining operations will employ the Systolic tree. The systolic tree-based reconfigurable architecture will offer various benefits such as high throughput as well as cost-effective performance. The database's frequently occurring item sets can be found by using the FP mining algorithms. Numerous research areas related to machine learning and data mining are fascinated by feature selection since it will enable the classifiers to be swift, more accurate, and cost-effective. Over the last ten years or so, there have been significant technological advancements in heuristic techniques. These techniques are beneficial because they improve the search procedure's efficiency, albeit at the potential sacrifice of completeness claims. A new recommender system for mental illness detection was based on features selected using River Formation Dynamics (RFD), Particle Swarm Optimization (PSO), and hybrid RFD-PSO algorithm is proposed in this paper. The experiments use the depressive patient datasets for evaluation, and the results demonstrate the improved performance of the proposed technique.

ABSTRACT

OBJECTIVE: The route of termination of pregnancy in eclampsia is not clearly established. This study aims to compare the fetomaternal outcome between planned vaginal delivery and planned cesarean section in women with eclampsia after 34 weeks of gestation. METHODS: This prospective observational study was conducted in the department of Obstetrics and Gynecology, Midnapore Medical College, West Bengal, India. 182 women with eclampsia carrying 34 weeks or more gestation were allocated to either cesarean(CD) or vaginal delivery (VD) group. The primary measure of outcome was severe maternal outcome. Secondary measures of outcome were perinatal mortality and morbidity. RESULTS: Of the 62 women allocated in vaginal delivery (VD) group, 60 women (32.97%) had vaginal delivery and 122 (67.03%) had undergone cesarean delivery (CD). Severe maternal outcome was more common in VD group in comparison with CD group (72.5% vs 27.5%, P < 0.00001 RR 2.64 OR 6.98). Perinatal outcome in relation to Apgar score at 5 min, still birth was better in CD group than VD group. Perinatal death was higher in VD group when compared with CD group (25.8%; vs. 8.33%; P = 0.002, RR 3.1 OR 3.83). CONCLUSION: There is increasing trend of delivering the eclampsia mother at > 34 weeks of gestation by cesarean section instead of inducing labor and delivering vaginally. Cesarean section when chosen as method of delivery does not increase morbidity or mortality.

ABSTRACT

Topological insulators (TIs) are bulk insulators with metallic surface states that can be described by a single Dirac cone. However, low-dimensional solids such as nanowires (NWs) are a challenge, due to the difficulty of separating surface contributions from bulk carriers. Fabrication of NWs with high surface-to-volume ratio can be realized by different methods such as chemical vapor transport, molecular beam epitaxy, and electrodeposition. The last method is used in the present work allowing the growth of structures such as p-n junctions, intercalation of magnetic or superconducting dots. We report the synthesis of high-quality TI NW: Bi2Te3, Sb2Te3 and p-n junction via electrodeposition. Structural, morphological, and nanostructure properties of NWs have been investigated by various characterization techniques. Interface structures and lateral heterojunctions (LHJ) in p-n junction NWs has also been made.

ABSTRACT

An efficient [3 + 2]/[4 + 2] or double [4 + 2] cycloaddition strategy has been established for the synthesis of heterocyclic systems under mild conditions. The reaction pathway is governed by the nature of reaction partner. Several dihydrofurocoumarin, furopyranocoumarin, dihydrofuran, dihydrobenzopyran, and dihydrobenzofuran derivatives were obtained as single diastereomers from cyclic or acyclic enol ethers and styrenes. This one-pot transformation constructed C-C and C-O bonds and generated molecular complexity by domino/tandem process to produce the heterocyclic systems in good yields. The ring closure of domino protocol was highly stereoselective and resulted in the formation of cis-fused systems.

ABSTRACT

The total synthesis of ganglioside 2, an analogue of the ganglioside Hp-s1 (1) which displays neuritogenic activity toward the rat pheochromocytoma cell line PC-12 cell in the presence of nerve growth factor (NGF) with an effect (34.0%) greater than that of the mammalian ganglioside GM 1 (25.4%), was accomplished by applying a chemoselective-activation glycosylation strategy. Moreover, we also demonstrate that the synthesized ganglioside 2 exhibited neuritogenic activity toward the human neuroblastoma cell line SH-SY5Y without the presence of NGF.
