Living in a multi-cultural community means nurses in all specialties must have an understanding of the diverse ethnic backgrounds of their patients. This applies equally to nurses working with older people, who can enhance the care they give by facilitating adequate, appropriate and accessible services for all patients, irrespective of ethnic origin.
