ABSTRACT

Requests for cosmetic surgery may mask important psychopathology. Although the majority of patients who seek hair transplantation may not need psychiatric study, the hair-transplant surgeon must be sensitive to and wary of those who seem to have over-determined needs for this service. The expectations, motivation, and sexuality of patients are prime factors that influence satisfaction with the results of hair transplantation.
