ABSTRACT

The authors studied the influence of lozartan -angiotensin II antagonist on the state of cardiohemodynamics and function of vessel endothelial cell in patients with CODL in the process of the treatment. 90 patients with stage II or III CODL in remission (average age is 50.46+/-5.1) have been observed. The average duration of the disease was 16.2+/-7.6 years. 30 patients received additionally lozartan -angiotensin II antagonist. Cardiohemodynamics has been assessed using Doppler ultrasonography. To assess the state of function of vessel endothelial cell the authors carried out reactive hyperemia test and calculated the level of nitrite nitrogen in blood plasma and erythrocytes. The duration of observation was 12 weeks. Losartan appeared to be effective in patients with CODL to correct compromised cardiohemodynamics. Losartan dicreases the disfunction of endothelial cell and has cardioprotective properties.

ABSTRACT

There is a marked growth of common and occupational morbidity related to the broncho-pulmonary system in Ukraine. This tendency is seen in Dnepropetrovsk region, where an increase in ocupational diseases is observed mainly on mining and smelting plants. Ocupational pulmonary diseases have long asymptomatic period and are diagnostically easy revealed at the late stages. It leads to stable disability and early mortality of these patients. Determination of rate and pecularities of the development of broncho-pulmonary system disorders in employees of plants with unhealthy working conditions as well as timely prophylactic and rehabilitation measures directed to the workers are highly important issue nowadays.

ABSTRACT

The use of broncholytic medications in industrial workers with chronic obstructive lung diseases (COLD) caused by harmful working conditions is considered by the authors. Classification of COLD, detailed information about the use of long-term beta2-agonists and cholinergic antagonists in treatment of patients with COLD are given in the article. Pathogenetic principles of action of medications used in treatment of patients with COLD are discussed in the article. Long-term cholinergic antagonist thiotropium bromidum is given much attention by the authors. The findings of the authors, concerning clinico-instrumental diagnostics of workers of underground mining, who had suffered from chronic obstructive lung diseases are paid attention to. Early prescription of broncholytic medications to such patients is substantiated in the article.
