ABSTRACT

An investigation on 1000 cases of oral cholecystography allowed us to collect 640 non pathologic opacifications of the gallblader and among them only 3 cases of pathological common bile ducts (0,47 percent). Consequently when the gallbladder appears normal on the oral cholecystography, the fatty meal seems to be non compulsory but only when clinical findings are in favor of a pancreatic disease or if there are pancreatic calcifications or if surgery has been performed anteriorly on the bile ducts, the liver or the pancreas.

ABSTRACT

The authors report their experience with the use of an automatic switch mechanism allowing continuous pulmonary radiograms during deep inspiration in babies and infants. The apparatus is easy to use and the films can be taken almost as quickly as normal radiograms. This automatic switch mechanism is particularly useful for polypnoeic infants and should be employed more widely.

ABSTRACT

A case of posttraumatic subacute synovitis with pseudotumor of the digit with bone lesions on plain film is reported. Arteriography showed a pattern of hypervascularity that did not appear malignant and evoked a benign tumor of the synovial. Biopsy helped establish diagnosis of common subacute synovitis. Swelling disappeared spontaneously during subsequent months. Diagnosis of villonodular synovitis is difficllt when proliferation of histiocytes is present.

ABSTRACT

A case is described of post-traumatic subacute synovitis of a finger exhibiting pseudo-tumoral appearance and radiographic bony changes. Arteriography showed non-malignant hypervascularisation suggesting a benign synovial tumour. Biopsy established a diagnosis of simple subacute synovitis. The swelling regressed spontaneously over the subsequent months. In the case of simple post-traumatic subacute synovitis differential diagnosis should take into account the possibility of villonodular synovitis which involves histiocyte proliferation.

ABSTRACT

An angiographic study after complete correction in twenty children who had previously undergone banding of the pulmonary artery revealed a certain number of complications. The considerable percentage of residual V.S.D, the persistance of notable narrowing in the region of the zone of banding, and infundibular hypertrophy are mainly due to surgical difficulties. Two cases of pulmonary valve incompetence were detected with the appearance of thickened valves, which were isolated or associated with a "domeshaped" valve appearance. Kowledge of these complications enables reduction as far as possible of the indications for banding of the pulmonary artery.
