We report a case of allergic contact dermatitis due to alcamphor present in a flushing solution used by a 58-year-old woman. It is the first case described in our Division of Allergy and the second one reported in the literature. Alcamphor is a chemical substance present in many products that may have been underestimated as the causative agent of contact allergic dermatitis as the allergen is not available in the standard patch test batteries.

We report a fixed drug eruption caused by a syrup containing sodium benzoate. Our patient gave a positive reaction to a patch test and to a provocation test after 15 h ingestion, but no patch test reaction in the interdigital area where the patient had previous lesions.

We present an allergic contact dermatitis by 1,2-dibromo-2,4-dieyanobutane; a preservative used in cosmetics, oils and cooling fluids, paints, pigments, plastics and glues, etc. This preservative hasn't been referred until now as allergen from shoes and isn't in the series used to study the allergic contact dermatitis by shoes (AU)

(AU)
