[Subpopulations of immunocompetent cells in the placenta in normal pregnancy and in EPH gestosis]. / Subpopulacija imunokompetentnih stanica u placenti u fizioloskim trudnocama i kod EPH gestoza.

An effort of cellular element investigations in placentas of 8 physiological pregnancies and 7 EPH gestoses is performed with the aid of specific monoclonal antibodies by the indirect immunohistochemical method. The average mean of parturient ages (primiparae and pluriparae) was 24 years in EPH gestoses. By the aid of monoclonal antibodies OKT4, OKT8, OKT11, OKT6 and OKDR, Dako-macrophage, 2H4 (Coulter) murine type, immunocompetent cells were identified in the decidua, in the stroma of chorionic villi, in the intervillous space, and in the fibrinoid masses. The semiquantitative indirect method of the immunohistochemical cellular investigation was performed by the aid of optic microscopy in 20 fields per every cutting (section) of the placental tissue. The immunocompetent active cell distribution did not reveal any special difference in the frequency of placental tissues of physiogical pregnancies and EPH gestoses, but OKT11+ cells were present in the major number in gestoses (in decidua). OKT8+ and OKDR+ cells were found in a similar number in both populations, while OKT6+ were not found at all in any investigated tissue.

[Congenital central paralysis of the facial nerve in a newborn infant]. / Kongenitalna centralna pareza zivca facijalisa u novorodenceta.

A case of congenital paresis of the supranuclear facial nerve on the left side in a newborn is presented. His mother has also congenital central facial nerve paresis and for this reason the same anomaly in the newborn was considered to be due to a genetic defect in the intrauterine development. No other lesions in the pyramidal tract were observed. At the infant's birth, a mild form was found of the partial pneumothorax which spontaneously disappeared. The authors suggest a multidisciplinary approach in the study of congenital facial nerve lesions.

[A retrospective on the incidence of bacteriuria in pregnancy (I)]. / Osvrt na ucestalost bakteriurija u trudnoci (1).

The incidence of significant asymptomatic bacteriuria was found in 8,14 per cent of 614 nonselected pregnant women's. The method of taking the "clean" middle stream urine is well accepted and valid one, but in some cases it is useful to do the suprapubic puncture of urinary bladder in order to avoid the contamination of urine. It is discussed about the incidence, aetiology, pathogenesis and prevention of urinary infection in pregnancy.
